  • Patent number: 10597049
Abstract: A railway freight car truck is provided with an elastomeric suspension device between the bolster end and the sideframe spring support surface. The elastomeric device is usually of an elongated oval shape. The elastomeric device takes the place of one or more rows of coil springs that comprise the suspension resting on the sideframe support surface. The freight car truck bolster is supported on the coil springs under empty car conditions and both the coil springs and the elastomeric device under fully loaded car conditions.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: March 24, 2020
    Assignee: Amsted Rail Company, Inc.

  • Publication number: 20180093906
Abstract: A chemical feeder for producing a solution of dissolved chemical material that includes a hopper, a pump, a water supply line that extends from the pump, a chemical solution preparation unit that has a reservoir and a dissolution device and a dilution control device that are each connected to the water supply line. The dissolution device has a spray manifold to spray water towards the hopper that contains solid chemicals to contact and dissolve the chemical material. The dilution control device sprays water in a direction opposite the spray manifold and into the reservoir to aid in adjusting the concentration of a chemical solution and to arrive at a desired chemical concentration range. Thus, the dilution control device allows the chemical feeder to be used in a wide range of applications.

  • Patent number: 9555818
Abstract: An improved leaf spring side bearing assembly for railway freight cars is provided that achieves improved tracking and curving by the limitation of rock of the railway freight car. The side bearing comprises a base with two raised end sections. A leaf spring assembly is provided on the base that extends to the underside and support channel of the freight car. A top wear plate and a bottom travel stop are also included with the leaf spring side bearing assembly.

  • Patent number: 8372348
Abstract: An apparatus includes a reservoir for holding a chemical solution, a pump and a discharge nozzle. The pump has an inlet and an outlet connected to the reservoir by inlet and discharge lines. The nozzle is disposed in a lower portion of the reservoir and discharges the solution toward the bottom of the reservoir; the nozzle has an inlet port connected to the pump discharge line through the sidewall of the reservoir. The pump inlet line is connected to a sidewall of the reservoir at a location below a normal surface level of the solution, and the pump discharge line is connected to the sidewall of the reservoir above that location. The reservoir, pump, pump inlet line, pump discharge line, nozzle inlet line and nozzle form a closed loop recirculation system effective to suspend insoluble material in the chemical solution.
