Abstract: A weight-based kitchen assistant in the form of a voice-assisted electronic scale allows a user to quickly convert weight measurements to volumetric measurements, determine accurate nutritional information of a food item based on its weight, and follow the steps of a recipe hands-free while cooking or baking in the kitchen. When connected to peripheral storage vessels, the weight-based kitchen assistant allows the user to manage and locate where ingredients are stored. The weight-based kitchen assistant also provides the user with the ability to measure accurate serving sizes and perform personalized dietary tracking.
