Abstract: Systems and methods for rendering portions of editable product designs are disclosed. According to certain aspects, an electronic device may support a design application that may apply a rendering algorithm to an editable product design, resulting in the application rendering the editable product design for viewing by a user in a first and a second portion of a user interface. In particular, the rendering algorithm may determine whether or not to adjust the editable product design from a first configuration and first orientation to a second configuration and/or a second orientation based on a selection from the user of a portion of the editable product design within the first portion of the user interface. Based on that determination, the application may render the editable product design in the second portion of the user interface in at least one of the second configuration and/or the second orientation.

Abstract: Systems and methods for rendering a product design associated with a foldable or other type of product are disclosed. According to certain aspects, an electronic device may display a foldable product within a product preview area, where the electronic device may animate the foldable product going from a folded state to an unfolded state, and vice-versa. In animating the foldable product, the electronic device may adjust the product within the product preview area and adjust a viewpoint so that the product is accurately and effectively reflected within the product preview area for a user to make an informed decision on whether to purchase the product.

Abstract: Visual design improvement suggestion systems, methods and user interfaces for design tools implement analysis and improvement of a visual design represented in an electronic document. Independent suggestion providers analyze and determine improvement suggestions for format and design aspects based on the format and content of the visual design. In a user interface, a user is presented with design improvement suggestions, and in an exemplary embodiment may indicate acceptance of the design improvement suggestion to instruct automatic application of the design improvement suggest to the visual design.

Abstract: Design images are inserted into scene rendered animations to depict and preview a design at different lighting angles. In an embodiment, the scene rendered animations use real images (i.e., photographs) of real finishes (such as foil, spot gloss, vinyl, etc.) that will be used in the secondary finish regions of a physical product incorporating the design. The animation facilitates an accurate rendering and depicts a natural appearance of the product as light moves across the product in an animated sequence. Because the appearance of the secondary finish is both natural and accurate, the simulated depiction of the product provides a more realistic expectation of how the final product with the design implemented thereon will look, thereby improving the matching of user expectations with the realities of the physical product.
