  • Patent number: 11050172
Abstract: A multi-layer circuit board includes a first layer including a first trace, a second layer connected to the first layer and including a second trace, and a stubless interconnect positioned through the first layer and the second layer. The stubless interconnect includes a body that is electrically insulative, and a bridge trace that is electrically conductive and connected to the body, the bridge trace extending from the first trace to the second trace to electrically connect the first trace and the second trace.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 22, 2019
Date of Patent: June 29, 2021
    Assignee: International Business Machines Corporation
Inventors: Matteo Cocchini, Michael Cracraft, Zachary Thomas Dreiss
  • Patent number: 11026324
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to a method for creating a secure volume. A method includes adhering a flexible circuit to a surface of an enclosure. A first portion of the flexible circuit extends outward from the perimeter of the enclosure. A second portion of the flexible circuit is adhered to the center portion of the enclosure. Pressure is applied to the flexible circuit to ensure that it is affixed to the enclosure. The flexible circuit and the enclosure are then subjected to an annealing temperature. The duration and temperature are based on the adhesive and flexible circuit material. The extended portion of the flexible circuit is coated with an adhesive and folded over the second portion of the flexible circuit. Pressure is applied to the folded flexible circuit. The folded flexible circuit is then subjected to an annealing temperature.

  • Publication number: 20210084391
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting an obstruction in a conduit structure, the apparatus includes a sleeve portion, a plurality of sensor cells, a primary termination cap, and a secondary termination cap. The plurality of sensor cells coupled to the sleeve portion, wherein each sensor cell from the plurality of sensor cells is electrically coupled to the primary termination cap and the secondary termination cap. The sleeve portion configured to wrap around a conduit structure, wherein each sensor cell from the plurality of sensor cells is directed to an exterior surface of the conduit structure. The primary termination cap electrically and mechanically coupled to a first end of the sleeve portion, wherein the primary termination cap includes Wi-Fi transmitter, a primary microcontroller, and a power source connection. The secondary termination cap electrically and mechanically coupled to a second end of the sleeve portion to short the plurality of sensor cells.
