Abstract: Systems and methods for notifying users of upcoming communication sessions in a virtual forum of an online community, for example, a video or audio forum, in which multiple users “hang out” and communicate. Users are notified of these upcoming meetings in advance, so they may participate in them, even at short notice, for example, in the event a meeting is ongoing. In some embodiments, the systems and methods permit users to subscribe to a particular entity within an online community, which may either be individuals (for example, a celebrity), company pages, groups, etc. Those who subscribe to the particular entity are immediately notified in the event a meeting relating to the entity is designated to occur or is ongoing.

A system may be configured to determine that a number of events for a user have occurred on a social network, wherein each event for the user is associated with an entity, calculate a score for each event based on a profile for the user and a profile for the entity associated with the event, and generate a notification for the user, wherein the notification comprises a plurality of information elements, wherein each information element is associated with one of the events in the number of events, and wherein the plurality of information elements in the notification are prioritized based on the score for each of the events.

The method may further include receiving at least one photograph at the event page from the one or more members of the social network, displaying the at least one photograph at the event page and generating a slideshow based upon, at least in part, the at least one photograph received at the event page.
