Abstract: Techniques described herein relate to using a unique session tracking value that is associated with a web browsing session to correlate a later transaction with a device fingerprint for a user device. The unique session tracking value may be generated via a web page that is being browsed by a user. While the user is browsing, a device fingerprint for the user device may be generated, and the unique session tracking value is stored in association with the device fingerprint, in various embodiments. Later, when a user attempts a transaction, the unique session tracking value can be transmitted via the website so that a service provider can retrieve the device fingerprint, which can be used in assessing a risk of fraud for the transaction.

Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting fraud are described. The methods include collecting identifying information regarding a user device, creating a device identifier (ID) based on the identifying information, generating a session key that is associated with a transaction, associating the session key with the device ID, storing the session key with the device ID, receiving the session key from a merchant, retrieving the device ID, determining a number of users associated with the device ID, and based on the number, assessing a risk of fraud for the transaction.
