    Abstract: A lubricant pump (14) and a method thereof are disclosed. The lubricant pump (14) includes a pump base (32) and a reservoir housing (30). The pump base (32) and the reservoir housing (30) define a lubricant reservoir for storing lubricant. One or more pump elements (34) extend at least partially into the lubricant reservoir. Heaters (36) are disposed on the pump base (32) proximate the pump elements (34). The heaters (36) are configured to heat the local area surrounding the pump elements (34), to thereby reduce the viscosity of the lubricant at the pump elements (34). The heaters (36) are electrically connected to a thermal switch (38) to control activation and deactivation of the heaters (36). With the lubricant pump (14) and the method thereof, the thermal switch (38) can control the heater (36) based on air temperature rather than the temperature of the lubricant, so the viscosity of lubricant is well controlled.

    Abstract: A piston for a single-stroke pump includes a pump rod, a seal ring extending about the pump rod and having a central bore, and a retaining device disposed on the pump rod and retaining the seal ring on the pump rod. In a forward stroke, the seal ring is in a first position whereby the seal ring sealingly engages the pump rod such that the seal ring and pump rod drive a fluid out of the pump chamber. When transitioning to a return stroke, the seal ring is maintained stationary relative to the pump cylinder until retaining device engages seal ring, such that seal ring is in a second position. With the seal ring in the second position, a flow path is opened between the seal ring and the pump rod, allowing fluid to flow into the pump chamber to prime the pump the next pump cycle.

The mounting bosses (18) on the hose reel enclosures (20) are designed to orient and constrain the mounting tube (22) to allow for the tube to be installed from either end of the hose reel. The constraining device (24) on the tube (22) locks into an integral opening (26) in the mounting bosses (18) to prevent tube (22) displacement in either direction.

Tension on the power spring 18 is transmitted to the frame 16 via a shaft 20 with a spring 30 loaded ratchet 22. The ratchet mechanism 24 engages the frame 16 via protrusions 26 that fit into cutouts 28 within the enclosure 14. The protrusions and cutouts 28 are designed so that a clockwise rotation is allowed to increase the tension of the power spring 18.
