    Abstract: Systems and techniques are described herein for device onboarding in a synchronization system. For example, a network entity can transmit a wake-up packet to wireless communication devices. The wake-up packet can include a device filter value indicative of a first subset of wireless communication devices of the wireless communication devices. The network entity can receive, from the first subset of wireless communication devices, one or more advertising packets corresponding to the wake-up packet. The network entity can determine a receive rate associated with the one or more advertising packets. Based on the receive rate being less than a threshold, the network entity can transmit an updated wake-up packet to the plurality of wireless communication devices. The updated wake-up packet includes an updated device filter value indicative of the first subset and additional wireless communication device(s) of the plurality of wireless communication devices.

In one illustrative example, a network device can determine whether a channel map update (CMU) process is ongoing and whether a periodic advertising (PA) event counter of periodic advertising synchronization transfer procedure (PAST) is similar to an instant of the CMU process. The network device can add a current channel map or a channel map of the CMU process to a channel map field of a protocol data unit (PDU) for the PAST based on whether the CMU process is ongoing and/or whether the PA event counter of PAST is similar to the instant of the CMU process.

Firmware (FW) of the AP may receive from a Host entity of the AP information indicating one or more groups of electronic shelf labels (ESLs) to which the FW will broadcast an AUX connect request message (ACRQ). The FW may broadcast the ACRQ to one of the groups of ESLs according to the information when communication resources are available according to an ACRQ broadcast schedule determined by the FW.

    Abstract: In some aspects, an access point (AP) may detect a periodic advertisement broadcast from another AP. The AP may transmit, to the other AP, a message to initiate a connection between the other AP and the AP. The AP may receive, from the other AP, a synchronization message that identifies at least one of a periodic advertisement timing used by the other AP or a set of index values that includes at least a first index value associated with the other AP, the first index value indicating a first hopping frequency sequence (HFS) used by the other AP. The AP may transmit periodic advertisements synchronized with the periodic advertisement timing used by the other AP and according to a second HFS that is based at least in part on a second index value associated with the AP, the second HFS being orthogonal to the first HFS.     Abstract: Various aspects include methods for onboarding information in electronic shelf labels (ESLs). In aspects performed by ESLs, such methods may include scanning for a wakeup packet from an access point remote from the ESL before transmitting an ESL advertisement, transmitting the ESL advertisement in response to receiving a wakeup packet that includes information indicating the ESL should transmit the ESL advertisement, and then receiving onboarding messages or a low power mode directive from the access point. In aspects performed by an access point, such methods may include broadcasting a wakeup packet that identifies a select one or more ESLs among the plurality of ESLs to transmit ESL advertisements, receiving one or more ESL advertisements from the identified select one or more advertising ESLs from among the plurality of ESLs, and transmitting an onboarding message to each of the ESLs corresponding to the select one or more ESLs.
