Publication number: 20250119728Abstract: The disclosed technology performs an automatic update of a Mobile Station International Subscriber Directory Number (MSISDN) change to at least a subset of contacts associated with a user account. Upon receiving an indication of a MSISDN change associated with an account, a contact update server of a telecommunications network retrieves contact information that includes multiple contacts of the account with multiple identifiers. The contact update server generates short messaging service (SMS) messages to be delivered to the multiple contacts of the account based on the multiple identifiers. The SMS messages include information regarding the MSISDN change associated with the account. The contact update server transfers the SMS messages to a short message service center (SMSC), and the SMSC delivers the SMS messages to the multiple contacts of the account.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 10, 2023Publication date: April 10, 2025Inventors: Sheraz Farooq Dar, Sudhanshu Pandey, Zakir Hussain Syed

Patent number: 12212608Abstract: A system receives an electronic message over the internet at a WebRTC gateway (WRG) of a telecommunications network. The system forwards the electronic message to a call session control function (CSCF) using session initiation protocol (SIP). The system detects a failed delivery of the electronic message at a rich communication service configured to deliver and monitor delivery of the electronic message and report failed deliveries. The system generates a failed delivery notification indicating that the electronic message was not delivered. The system receives the failed delivery notification at the WRG and at the WRG converts the electronic message to either a short messaging service (SMS) or multimedia messaging service (MMS) message. The system sends the SMS or MMS message from the WRG to the CSCF using SIP. The system forwards the SMS or MMS message to a short message service center (SMSC), which delivers the SMS or MMS message.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2024Date of Patent: January 28, 2025Assignee: T-Mobile USA, Inc.Inventors: Sheraz Farooq Dar, Srikanth Bionapally, Venkat Kondeti, Niranjan Piratla, Zakir Hussain Syed

Patent number: 12206633Abstract: A method of completing RCS file transfer. The method comprises receiving a first SIP message comprising a first URL designating a file stored in a first message store in a first network by an RCS server in a second network; sending the first URL by the RCS server to a second message store in the second network; identifying a second URL by the second message store, wherein the second URL is to be associated with the first URL by a proxy server; sending the first URL and the second URL by the second message store to the proxy server; sending the second URL by the second message store to the RCS server; and sending a second SIP message comprising the second URL by the RCS server to a communication device, whereby the communication device is enabled to request a file from the proxy based on the second URL.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2023Date of Patent: January 21, 2025Assignee: T-Mobile Innovations LLCInventors: Sheraz F. Patent number: 12177659Abstract: An improved telecommunications network that can reduce the network load on a rich communication services (RCS) server and/or local routers that implement 1-to-N and/or M-to-N services is described herein. In particular, the improved telecommunications network may include an improved RCS server that can route secure multicast messages instead of and/or in addition to unicast messages. For example, the improved RCS server can create a multicast group for a group of UEs in response to a request from a UE to create a group of UEs. Creation of the multicast group may include creating a shared multicast group key (SMGK) for the multicast group and/or selecting a security algorithm for the multicast group. The improved RCS server can then distribute the SMGK and/or the selected security algorithm to the UEs such that the UEs can use the SMGK and/or the selected security algorithm to encrypt and/or decrypt messages.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 2023Date of Patent: December 24, 2024Assignee: T-Mobile USA, Inc.Inventors: Rahul Amin, Joel Arends, Fadi Banna, Sheraz Dar, Zakir Hussain Syed

Publication number: 20230353985Abstract: An open group chat (OGC) session is initiated between mobile devices registered to different telecommunications networks by first verifying whether each implicated network has a network-to-network interface (NNI) agreement with each other network. A first mobile device receives a request to initiate an OGC session between the first mobile device, a second mobile device registered to a second telecommunications network, and a third mobile device registered to a third telecommunications network. The first device determines, based on a response received from the second network, if an operator of the second network and an operator of the third network have an NNI agreement. If the received response indicates the operators of the second and third networks do not have an NNI agreement, the first mobile device sends a non-OGC message, such as a multimedia messaging service (MMS) message or a closed group chat (CGC) message, to the second and third devices.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 29, 2022Publication date: November 2, 2023Inventors: Sheraz Farooq Dar, Zakir Hussain Syed, Sudhanshu Pandey

Patent number: 10609525Abstract: When a message server of an Internet Protocol (IP) network, such as a Rich Communication Services (RCS) server, receives a message addressed to a destination identifier, but cannot immediately forward the message on to a terminating communication device associated with the destination identifier, the message server can store the message in a message database. When a communication device associated with the destination identifier connects to a legacy network, a Short Message Service Center (SMSC) of the legacy network can send the message server a Short Message Peer-to-Peer (SMPP) message with a predefined alert indicator signaling that the communication device is available to receive messages through the legacy network. The message server can accordingly retrieve the stored message from the message database and send the message to the communication device through the legacy network.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 2019Date of Patent: March 31, 2020Assignee: T-Mobile USA, Inc.Inventors: Sheraz Dar, Zakir Hussain Syed
