Patent number: 11840399Abstract: A hydrocarbon tank system environment corrosion inhibitor includes use of inert gas, preferably Nitrogen, to blanket ullage and interstice through the tank system. Blanket gas is provided is controller into coupling to access ullages. Blanket gas is provided upon fueling events to stabilize the pressure in the system and prevent entry of atmospheric air and water (vapor). Blanket gas may be continuously run into the ullage and/or other spaces in tank system. A controlled system allows for monitoring of pressures in the tank, and thereby identifies pressure events and even leaks in system due to unusual events, or general loss of pressure.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 2020Date of Patent: December 12, 2023Assignee: TERRA PRIMORIS HOLDINGS, L.L.C.Inventors: Gregory E. Young, Zane A. Miller

Patent number: 11617840Abstract: An apparatus that includes at least one nebulizer that includes a mesh material having a plurality of pores, a vibrating actuator coupled to the nebulizer and configured to produce ultrasonic vibration when energized according to a set energy profile, and a reservoir receiver configured to receive a reservoir that holds a topical formulation, the reservoir being coupled to the nebulizer when received. When the nebulizer is placed in contact with the topical formulation, vibration of the mesh nebulizer by the vibrating actuator, according to the set energy profile, ejects droplets of the topical formulation from the plurality of pores, forming a spray.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2017Date of Patent: April 4, 2023Assignee: L'OREALInventors: Zane Miller, Vincenzo Casasanta, John Streeter

Patent number: 11498755Abstract: An underground storage tank maintenance system includes a system of monitors to determine pressure and humidity in the system. Inert gas may be supplied into the ullage of the tank. The inert gas may first pass through an interstitial space as between the primary storage and secondary containment, and then passed into ullage to capture contaminants on the way out of the vent to atmosphere. The system and method prevent hydrocarbons exiting to atmosphere. Humidity sensors may be set along vent to determine water contamination and trigger drying cycles. Pressure readings help identify system leaks.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 2019Date of Patent: November 15, 2022Inventors: Gregory E. Young, Zane A. Miller

Patent number: 11390457Abstract: A system to maintain an inert ullage in a hydrocarbon tank. The system provides for outgassing/venting of ullage gases when a high-pressure event is found within the tank. Further, when a low-pressure event occurs, during fuel discharge or based on ambient conditions, a source of inert gas, such as nitrogen) supplies gas on-demand to the hydrocarbon tank via a pressure regulator (preferably along the venting system) to maintain both the pressure and inerting of the ullage. A method for maintaining the inert ullage is also provided, whereby a low-pressure event triggers a supply of inert gas into the tank.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 2020Date of Patent: July 19, 2022Inventors: Gregory E. Young, Zane A. Miller

Patent number: 10792587Abstract: A system and method for improving hydrocarbon fuel, such as diesel, particularly after contamination in underground storage tanks with other fuels such as gasoline, etc. High-gravity hydrocarbons present in diesel and/or water are removed via aeration of the (out-of-specification/contaminated) diesel. The removal of unwanted hydrocarbons and other contaminants can be accomplished in a number of fashions, including pumped air, exposure of the line, drawing of air into the line, etc. After removal from the diesel line, high-gravity hydrocarbons can be isolated and recycled or re-used, for instance to power the system. Following the conditioning, the diesel may be returned into specification for dispensation at a commercial or retail fuel center for use in vehicles and diesel combustion engines. The system and process may be portable and/or conducted locally at the site of an underground storage tank.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 2019Date of Patent: October 6, 2020Assignee: TERRA PRIMORIS HOLDINGS, LLCInventors: Gregory E.
