  • Patent number: 9846174
Abstract: This application relies on terminology found in the Vehicle State Detection (STATE) patent and describes methods of detecting acceleration, deceleration, accidents and cornering operational states, which we will also call vehicle dependent states, and vehicle independent states, triggered when the portable device is moved independently of movement of the vehicle. These methods enhance classification of driving behavior.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 11, 2014
Date of Patent: December 19, 2017
    Inventors: Roy Schwartz, Zarick Schwartz

  • Patent number: 9152609
Abstract: This application describes the detection of the state of a vehicle and various actions to be performed based on the detected state. The detection of the state is done by a portable device, carried by the user, which uses onboard sensors to receive operations indicators, and uses rules in a predetermined criteria to determine the operational state of the vehicle. Various methods are described for detecting the states of the vehicle and applications based upon it.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 12, 2013
Date of Patent: October 6, 2015
    Inventors: Roy Schwartz, Zarick Schwartz
  • Patent number: 8964616
Abstract: A system, method and apparatus allocating reserved space for discontinuous reception (DRX) schedule period schedule messages (SM) to accommodate scheduling information for messages already received as well as messages expected to be received prior to transmitting the SM to user equipment.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 14, 2012
Date of Patent: February 24, 2015
    Assignee: Alcatel Lucent
Inventors: Zarick Schwartz, Huy Thang Pham

  • Publication number: 20090292597
Abstract: This application describes a means of paying for metered parking using the cell phone. It uses information from telecommunications systems to identify the region of the origin of the caller and the caller's parking location. Further input is used during the call to narrow the region to the specific city and the parking rate to be charged. This method saves the user from entering different phone numbers for different town and fewer digits than the alternative of numbering individual meters. Furthermore, it saves the towns from numbering all their meters as proposed by existing methods. It also describes improved methods for enforcements.

  • Patent number: 7570670
Abstract: A method and system for communicating and processing VOIP packets using a jitter buffer. The method includes receiving VOIP packets from a plurality of base stations, buffering the received VOIP packets in a jitter buffer and playing the VOIP packets from the jitter buffer. The VOIP packets received from the plurality of base stations being related to a same VOIP transmission.
