  • Patent number: 4488484
Abstract: Control device for the offset cylinder of an offset printing machine, said control device selectively governing the movement of the offset cylinder into printing engagement with the plate and impression cylinders of the printing machine and the movement of the offset cylinder away from said plate and impression cylinders to relieve them of printing pressure. The control device mounts the offset cylinder sufficiently stiffly in the frame of the printing machine so as to avoid faults in the printing as, for example, the formation of strips on the printed paper sheets. The offset cylinder is rotatably mounted on an eccentric shaft which is mounted in first adjustable bearings which are arranged in eccentric bushings. On said eccentric bushings there are mounted second adjustable bearings which are arranged in bearing flanges which are adjustably fastened in the side walls of the printing machine.

  • Patent number: 4336755
Abstract: The present invention is a device for a multicolor printing machine which permits continuous and precise axial setting of a form cylinder to obtain quality register printing during the printing operation of the machine. After setting of the form cylinder, it is also possible to eliminate clearance between the elements of the setting mechanism. The control elements are advantageously arranged on one side of the machine in such a manner as to be easily accessible for the operator. The device enables the elimination of clearance between the elements necessary for the axial setting by means of securing elements and the coupling of the drive gear with the form cylinder by means of a carrier in which the radial clearance has been eliminated and as a result, the shifting of the drive gear is made possible without introduction of radial clearance.

  • Patent number: 4195569
Abstract: An arrangement for adjusting the rotational phase angle of the form cylinder of a printing machine to obtain proper image registration, for example for multicolor printing operations. Adjustment is accomplished by a toothed ring which can be rotationally adjusted and which is slidably engaged with a connecting gear affixed to a drive gear. A control shaft may be rotated to axially move the drive gear with respect to the toothed ring, and an expandable radial bearing is coupled between the control shaft and the drive gear.

  • Patent number: 4080895
Abstract: An apparatus for tripping into pressure contact and release an offset cylinder utilizing a worm-shaped body firmly mounted on the cylinder shaft and provided with a worm in engagement with a worm wheel rotatably mounted on the shaft and provided with an integrally formed lever connected by a carrier pivot with a pull rod for tripping the pressure cylinder. The worm-shaped body is divided by an adjustable clamping recess, while the carrier pivot is shiftably arranged on one end of a pull spring, the other end being attached to a wall of the printing machine.
