  • Patent number: 5937629
Abstract: A method and device are provided for supplying empty tubes to winding devices of a textile machine comprising a plurality of operating units arranged next to each other in at least one line and equipped each with a winding device as a part of the operating unit, with a tube container provided at one end of the machine and coupled with a tube conveyer arranged along the line of the operating unites of the textile machine along which is also provided an attending unit adapted to travel along the line of the operating units and containing a handling device for moving a tube from the tube conveyer to a winding device. Prior to the attempt at rewinding, the handling device of the attending device lays into the winding device an empty winding tube. In case of an unsuccessful attempt at rewinding (at restoring the winding), the winding tube 22 is taken out of the winding device 1 by the attending device 4.

  • Patent number: 5839569
Abstract: A method and device are provided for conveying tubes (2) on a textile machine in which cylindrical (21) or conical (22) tubes are conveyed, one at a time, by means of a conveyer (6) provided along a line of operating units from a tube container (5) to an attending device (4). The tube (2), while being conveyed, leans on the circumference only on the moving parts of the conveyer (6) in at least two straight sections parallel with the direction of motion of the conveyer (6). The conveyer for carrying out this method comprises two endless belts (61) arranged next to each other along the machine length in such a manner that their mutual distance is along the machine length constant and inferior to the average diameter of the tube to be conveyed (21, 22).

  • Patent number: 5822969
Abstract: A device for delivering wound bobbins from a textile machine, comprising a main conveyor of wound bobbins, the conveyor having an end, an ancillary belt conveyor which receives wound bobbins from the end of the main conveyor and conveys them in a conveying direction; and a multi-story row container at one or both lateral sides of the ancillary conveyor. The height of the ancillary conveyor is adjustable to the height of each row in the row container. An adjustment device, such as one that tilts the row of bobbins on the ancillary conveyor, causes the bobbins to move from the ancillary conveyor to a row of the row conveyor in a direction perpendicular to the motion direction of the belt of the ancillary conveyor.

  • Patent number: 5778651
Abstract: Method and apparatus for spinning-in yarn on an open end spinning machine following a yarn rupture, wherein the machine includes a plurality of operating units which wind yarn on respective bobbins and an attending device movable along the operating units to the unit at which a rupture occurred. Upon a yarn rupture, the winding of the bobbin is halted, and the bobbin is permitted to be unwound a metered length. A detecting nozzle detects the yarn end and sucks in the yarn end and moves away from the bobbin. A catching arm supports the yarn. A tension roller receives the yarn on it. The tension roller is located on a spinning head which is swingable from a position toward the bobbin to a position toward the rotor and the head is then movable to move the yarn on the roller toward the rotor. A clamp on the spinning head clamps the yarn and a trimmer trims the yarn to form the yarn end. An ancillary compensator at the spinning head deflects the yarn to compensate and then releases the yarn.

  • Patent number: 5699971
Abstract: A method and device for detecting the yarn end on a bobbin in a textile machine. The textile machine comprises a plurality of operating units situated next to each other and an attending device adapted to travel along the units and to stop at a selected one of the operating units. The attending device includes a selecting device provided with a detecting nozzle having a yarn sucking mouth. The detecting device is displaced into a detecting position in which the mouth of the detecting nozzle lies in the path of possible motion of a central tube of the bobbin. The bobbin begins to move towards the mouth of the detecting nozzle situated in its detecting position onto which the bobbin circumference comes to lie.

  • Patent number: 5640839
Abstract: A method of spinning-in yarn on open-end spinning machines in which an interruption of the spinning process is followed by the stop of the feed of the sliver (4) into the singling-out device (2) whose combing roller (22) keeps turning, and the rotor is stopped at least during its cleaning. When the rotor (1) has re-started the yarn end is returned to it and brought into contact with the newly formed fiber band. Prior to the re-starting of the rotor (1) and at the latest simultaneously with the start of the feed device (3) of the sliver (4), the surface of the combing roller (22) is acted upon by a pressure air stream acting in the sense of rotation of the combing roller (22) between the place of supply of the sliver (4) to the combing roller (22) and the mouth of the fiber feed channel (212) to the rotor (1) so as to remove from the clothing (221) of the combing roller (22) fibers and sticking impurities. The invention also relates to a device for carrying out the method.

  • Patent number: 5490375
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of respinning-in in open-end spinning machines after a bobbin removal from the swinging arms (51, 52) of the bobbin holder (5) or at the beginning of spinning at an empty spinning station, and to a device for carrying out the method. During the fixing of the empty tube (8) between the swinging arms (51, 52) of the bobbin holder (5) at a spinning station at rest, an ancillary yarn (15) is inserted between a swinging arm (51) and the edge of the tube (8) and then gripped the swinging arm (51), then its opposite end is adapted for one spinning-in in an attending device (9) and spun-in, then is this ancillary yarn (15) together with the beginning of the newly spun yarn wound onto the tube (8) as yarn reserve, whereupon the yarn is handed over to the distributing mechanism of the machine for producing a cross-wound bobbin.

  • Patent number: 5396758
Abstract: In an open-end spinning machine, an empty tube is placed between the holder swinging arms of a bobbin holder of a spinning station at rest. An ancillary yarn is inserted and gripped at one end between one of the swinging arms and the edge of the tube. The opposite end of the ancillary yarn is adapted for spinning-in by cutting and shaping the opposite end which is in turn fed into a spinning unit. The ancillary yarn together with newly spun yarn is wound onto the tube through the spinning unit for making a yarn reserve. This yarn reserve is used by the open-end spinning machine for producing a cross-wound bobbin.

  • Patent number: 5363638
Abstract: A device for handling wound bobbins which are wound on a spinning machine includes an attending device which is moveable along the spinning machine from one wound bobbin to another. A tending device includes a lever which carries a gripping mechanism, for swinging the gripping mechanism toward and away from a wound bobbin. The gripping mechanism has gripping arms which can be spread for receiving a wound bobbin and then brought together for grasping a wound bobbin. The gripping mechanism can then rotate the arms through 180.degree. and the lever can move the mechanism over a conveyor to deposit the wound bobbin onto the conveyor in the same orientation, whether the bobbin was removed from the spinning machine from one side or from an opposite side.
