  • Patent number: 5488335
Abstract: A filter duplexer, such as a filter duplexer for a radio transceiver, of minimum dimensions is disclosed. First and second filter portions of the duplexer each include a plurality of transmission lines. Cross sections of the plurality of transmission lines of each filter portion are of at least two different geometries. The amount of coupling between adjacent ones of the resonators, as well as the loading capacitances of such resonators, is controlled by the relative geometric configuration of the adjacent ones of the resonators. Because the amount of coupling between the resonators and the loading capacitances of the resonators is determinative of the filter characteristics of the filter duplexer, desired filter characteristics may be effectuated by careful selection of the geometric configurations of the resonators of each filter portion.

  • Patent number: 5327642
Abstract: An assembly, and associated method for constructing such, for connecting an electrical circuit to an electrical cable, such as an antenna connector pin, or, alternately, to a coaxial transmission line. An antenna circuit board includes a circular aperture extending therethrough for receiving a socket member to be supported thereat. Angled, segmental-slots are formed about the circular aperture and receive projecting prong-members of a clip member. The socket member receives the electrical cable, such as the antenna connector pin, or a coaxial conductor pin therein. The clip member engages with a coaxial tube of the coaxial transmission line. The assembly permits alternate connection thereto of either the electrical cable or the coaxial transmission line thereat.

  • Patent number: 5250916
Abstract: A filter duplexer, such as a filter duplexer for a radio transceiver, of minimum dimensions is disclosed. A first filter portion of the duplexer filter includes resonators of a first geometric configuration, and a second filter circuit portion of the duplexer filter comprises resonators of a second geometric configuration. The geometric configuration of the two filter circuit portions are dissimilar such that relative characteristic admittances of the resonators of the respective filter circuit portions are dissimilar. Because the resonators of the two filter circuit portions are of dissimilar electrical characteristics, a desired frequency response of the duplexer filter may be obtained with similar resonator loading capacitances.

  • Patent number: 4903326
Abstract: A detachable battery pack with a built-in broadband antenna is disclosed. Since the antenna is wholly contained within the battery housing, it is protected from damage and is detachable from the transceiver when the battery is detached. A transmission line structure formed between the battery and the transceiver is used to create an open circuit near the antenna feed point.

  • Patent number: 4876552
Abstract: An internally mounted broadband antenna utilizing two resonators and a reactive ground feed is disclosed. A nonconductive notch separates a conductive surface into two portions which are coupled to a respective one of each resonator. Each resonator is a microstrip conductor forming a transmission line with its respective conductive surface portion. Coupling to the antenna is accomplished by connection across the notch.
