  • Publication number: 20030040902
Abstract: A system of learning a foreign language, including a document receiving module, a document partitioning module and a sentence dividing module. The document receiving module receives a language document entered by a learner. The document partitioning module partitions the language document into at least one independent sentence. The sentence dividing module divides the independent sentence into a plurality of elements. After obtaining the elements, a sentence-making language learning module changes the order of the elements to obtain a shuffled sentence for the learner, and accepts the learner's input. The sentence-making language learning module then compares the independent sentence with the learner's input and outputs a result to the learner.

  • Publication number: 20020172926
Abstract: A computer-aided learning system comprising a central processing unit (CPU) and a storage device. The storage device stores a course database including a plurality of course data and a story database including a plurality of story data, with each course datum corresponding to at least one story datum. The CPU runs the following steps of: reading in a course datum from the course database; outputting the course datum to a learner; checking the learner's comprehension of the course material; reading in a story datum from the story database when the learner's comprehension of the course material reaches a certain level and outputting the story datum to the learner; and reading in the next course datum from the course database. The invention also discloses a corresponding computer-aided learning method.

  • Publication number: 20020172932
Abstract: An interactive animation teaching system, comprising an animation object database, a project database, a selection accepting module, and an animation providing module. The animation object database stores at least one animation object datum. The project database stores at least one project datum, including project related animation data. The project related animation data include configuration settings relevant for each animation object in the project datum. The selection accepting module receives the animation object items and project items selected by a user. The animation providing module provides a project animation to the user according to the user selected animation object items and project items after integrating the corresponding animation object data in the animation object database and the corresponding project data in the project database in accordance with the relevant configuration settings. The invention also discloses an interactive animation teaching method for the system.

  • Publication number: 20020072038
Abstract: A method for making problems for people learning a foreign language through sentence practice. The method includes a problem style determination procedure, a sentence pattern reading in procedure, a sentence pattern partition procedure, a sentence pattern recombination procedure, a problem output procedure, an input accepting procedure, a comparison procedure, and a result output procedure. The problem style determination procedure determines a problem style. The sentence pattern reading in procedure reads in a prototype sentence pattern from a computer readable sentence pattern database. The sentence partition procedure separates the prototype sentence pattern into a plurality of sentence pattern components. The sentence pattern recombination procedure shuffles the sentence pattern components to obtain a recombined sentence pattern. The problem output procedure outputs the recombined sentence pattern to a learner according to the problem style. The input accepting procedure receives input from the learner.

  • Publication number: 20020069047
Abstract: A computer-aided language method, comprising a sentence reading procedure, a sentence partition procedure, a recombination output procedure, an input acceptance procedure, a sentence comparison procedure and a result output procedure. In the sentence reading procedure, a first language sentence is read from a sentence database readable by a computer and a second language sentence corresponding to the first language sentence. The sentence partition procedure performs elementary partitions on the first language sentence so as to obtain a plurality of sentence elements. The recombination procedure performs a recombination sub-procedure on the sentence elements and outputs the result to a learner. The input acceptance procedure accepts the data entered by the leaner regarding the result of the recombination sub-procedure. When the entered data is a learner-input sentence, the sentence comparison procedure performs the comparison between the learner-input sentence and the first language sentence.

  • Publication number: 20020031751
Abstract: An interactive tutorial system with operating method being capable of mounting in a web server is disclosed. When commands input in clients by customers are transferred to the web server for interpreting, assignments such as tutorial interfaces, courses, review intervals, or even examination questions are then provided by the server according to the commands. The disclosed system and method permits customers to get into a custom-made or a review mode for design/assign and review, respectively. The customers may assign tutorial interfaces, courses, and review intervals in the custom-made mode and study courses or receive testing via examination questions according to previous determinations in the review mode. Additionally, when customers next time enter the disclosed system, the tutorial interfaces previously assigned will be shown for tutorial purpose.
