  • Publication number: 20190293808
Abstract: A photonic dosimeter accrues cumulative dose and includes: a substrate; a waveguide disposed on the substrate and that: receives a primary input light; transmits secondary input light from the primary input light to a dosimatrix; receives a secondary output light from the dosimatrix; and produces primary output light from the secondary output light; the dosimatrix disposed on the substrate and in optical communication with the waveguide and that: receives the secondary input light from the waveguide; produces the secondary output light that is communicated to the waveguide; and includes an active element that undergoes conversion from a prime state to a dosed state in response to receipt, by the active element, of a dose of radiation; and a cover layer disposed on waveguide and the dosimatrix.

  • Patent number: 10151681
Abstract: An optofluidic flow meter to determine a rate of fluid flow in a flow member includes: the flow member; a primary fluid conduit disposed in the flow member and that receives a fluid; a secondary fluid conduit disposed in the flow member; and a fiber optic comprising a fiber Bragg grating interposed between a first flow region of the primary fluid conduit and a second flow region of the secondary fluid conduit and that: physically distorts relative to a pressure differential between the primary fluid conduit and the secondary fluid conduit; and produces a shift in a Bragg wavelength in response to a physical distortion due to the pressure differential.

  • Patent number: 9726553
Abstract: A thermometer includes a substrate; an optical resonator disposed on the substrate and including an optical resonance, the optical resonator being configured to receive a resonant frequency corresponding to the optical resonance; and a waveguide disposed on the substrate proximate to the optical resonator to receive input light, to communicate the resonant frequency to the optical resonator, and to transmit output light; wherein an aperture is interposed between: the substrate and the optical resonator, the substrate and the waveguide, or a combination comprising at least one of the foregoing, and the thermometer is configured to change the optical resonance in response to a change in temperature of the optical resonator.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 9405501
Abstract: Methods and systems for synchronizing audio layers is disclosed. In one aspect, a method of synchronizing audio layers to form an audio composition includes receiving, from a first computing device, at an audio synchronization system, a first audio layer having a first length. The audio synchronization system identifies a portion of a second audio layer with which the received first audio layer is to be synchronized. The audio synchronization system adjusts the first length to match a second length of the identified portion of the second audio layer by altering the tempo of the first audio layer. The audio synchronization system trims a recording signal delay from a beginning portion of the first audio layer and combines the first audio layer and the second audio layer to form an audio composition. In some implementations, the second audio layer includes a reference audio layer.
