  • Patent number: 4519656
Abstract: The invention provides a cabinet, especially for storing and dispensing sanitary commodities, characterized in that the cabinet is provided with at least one compartment and at least one access door thereto and is further provided with attachment means depending from a bottom surface thereof for attachment of the cabinet atop a cover of a bathroom flush tank as an integral unit with the cover of said tank. The cabinet and cover are readily removable as a unit to allow access to a flushing mechanism within the flush tank in case of malfunction. The bottom surfaces of the attachment means are substantially planar and may be adjusted so as to be arranged non-parallel with the bottom of the cabinet rendering the cabinet compatibly attachable to bathroom flush tank covers of various sizes, configurations and curvatures. The invention also provides a kit for attaching such a cabinet to a cover of a bathroom flush tank. A method for alignably attaching such a cabinet to a flush tank cover is also described.

  • Patent number: 4479584
Abstract: The invention provides a set of spring-like tongues for mounting in a compartment, for frictionally retaining differing objects, in particular sanitary commodities such as tampons, tampex cartridges and the like, comprising a plurality of juxtaposed spring-like tongues, longitudinally extending from a common head rail, which spring-like tongues are pre-bent in such a way that, starting from points adjacent to the head rail, they slope substantially away from the plane containing major surfaces of the head rail. The invention also provides a compartment for frictionally retaining and dispensing of differing objects incorporating such a set of spring-like tongues.

  • Patent number: 4346735
Abstract: A water-saving faucet, particularly for kitchen sinks and bathroom basins, is provided. The faucet comprises at least one water valve, a sink-sweeping movable spout and a spout valve means coupled to the spout. The open and closed states of the faucet are controllable by the movable spout and the open state of the faucet is substantially unaffected by the sweep of the movable spout across the effective area of the sink or basin. An attachment for converting a standard mixing faucet having a movable spout into a water-saving mixing faucet is also provided.

  • Patent number: 4305163
Abstract: A flush valve mechanism for controlling the flushing action of water thro the water outlet of a flush cistern is provided. The mechanism comprises a water outlet valve liftable off the water outlet to effect the flushing action and a buoyant, valve-engaging assembly adapted to move independently of the water outlet valve by virtue of its buoyancy. The water outlet valve having an effectively negative overall buoyancy when the cistern is at least partially full. The valve-engaging assembly comprises a pivotably mounted buoyant lever having at least one arm with a buoyant means attached at one end thereof adjacent the bottom of the cistern and is provided with means at its other end for selectively engaging the valve. The assembly further comprises restraining means having a first position normally engaging and restraining the buoyant lever with the buoyant means in close proximity to the cistern bottom and the engaging means in disengaged relationship to the valve.

  • Patent number: 4171547
Abstract: A device for converting a single volume cistern into a cistern allowing both low-volume and high-volume flushes. The device includes a hollow vessel inserted in the cistern and at least partially surrounding the flushing mechanism and water outlet. An opening at the upper end of the vessel for the entry of water and at least one selectively openable port comprising a hinged door having a retaining lever arm attached at one of its ends to the door are provided. The arm and door are movable between a first closed position to a second displaced open position. The vessel forms an open ended water column extending above and around the water outlet to exclude a portion of the water in the cistern from passing through the outlet while the door is in the first position for low volume flushes. The door and the lever arm move to the second displaced open position with the lever held and restrained by interaction with a standard water-level responsive part.
