When the multicast member information indicates that the multicast includes the first node, the first node sends response information. The response information indicates whether one or more units in the payload are correctly received. When the multicast member information indicates that the first node is not a multicast member, no response information is sent.

The first channel includes a first branch and a second branch. An impedance of the first branch is greater than an impedance of the second branch. The first channel is used to select the first branch or the second branch, to transmit a communication signal. so that a signal of a first channel connected to a source node or a destination node flows through a low-impedance branch, and a signal of a first channel not connected to the source node or the destination node flows through a high-impedance branch.

The data transmission method includes: a power line node generates a data frame, where the data frame includes a first field, a second field, and a third field, the first field is used to carry a modulation parameter, the second field is used to carry, in a bit mapping manner, identification information that is of at least one destination node of current multicast and that is configured by the power line node, and the third field is used to carry service data; and the power line node sends the data frame to a node in a power line communication network. According to the data transmission method, data can be efficiently transmitted to a plurality of destination nodes to save bandwidth.
