    Abstract: Drug delivery system comprising a dose setting member adapted to incrementally rotate in a first direction to set a dose, and incrementally rotate in an opposed second direction to reduce a set dose, the dose setting member having a rotational slack in each incremental rotational position. The system further comprises a rotary sensor adapted to detect the amount of rotation of the dose setting member during dose setting. Processor means is adapted to detect a first or second dose setting pattern when the final dose was set by rotating the setting member in the first respectively the second direction. When a first / second dose setting pattern is detected the detected amount of rotation is used to calculate a corrected amount of rotation using a first/ second algorithm compensating for a slack-induced error generated corresponding to the first/ second dose setting pattern.

    Abstract: A benchmarking approach is employed that compares advice output from one or more alternative treatment guidance algorithms with a current actual treatment in terms of treatment outcomes. Treatment outcome for the current strategy is reflected in an actual BG outcome or profiled. Treatment outcome for an alternative algorithm-generated dose advice is based on a patient-specific model. The two sets of outcomes can be compared directly or using performance scores as a weighted combination that penalises or rewards certain outcomes. A statistical test may be applied to the accumulated results (paired outcomes or scores) to determine whether the algorithm is superior to the user's current dosing strategy, or alternative strategies.

    Abstract: Add-on device for a drug delivery pen device, comprising a drive member adapted for coupling to a dose dial member of the pen device, a dial member adapted to rotate the drive member in first and second directions to set/adjust a pen dose, a release member axially moveable to actuate a pen device release button, a linear-to-rotational converter mechanism adapted to convert axial movement of the release member to rotational movement of the drive member in a first direction, whereby, when the add-on device is mounted on the drug delivery pen device: the dose dial member of the pen device is biased in the first direction by the drive member thereby taking up rotational slack in the pen device.
