    Abstract: A method of making a machine readable data symbol marking on an article to be marked is disclosed. The symbol is marked on the article using a stain. The stain includes particles of conductive materials. An electric current is then induced in the area of the symbol and through the conductive materials. The electric current is used to generate heat in the conductive materials, wherein the heat causes the symbol to be fused to the article.
