  • Publication number: 20110094333
Abstract: The motor vehicle starter is provided with a casing (12) and a reduction gear (5) with an epicyclic train comprising a ring (30), provided with an external part (31) and an internal ring part mounted coaxially in the external part, and a monobloc shock damping device (34) interposed between the external reduction gear part (31) and the internal reduction gear ring (32); the casing (12) of the starter having an open end closed by a base plate (35) mounted fixed in the starter and in that the external part (30) of the ring (30) is fixed to the base plate.

  • Publication number: 20080245626
Abstract: An electromagnetic retarder used to reduce the speed of a rotating machine. This retarder comprises a stator through which a first shaft passes and a rotor which is assembled with the first shaft. The first shaft has a first end and a second end which are axially opposite and which can be coupled respectively to a second shaft which is linked to a motive source and a third shaft which is linked to a load. The first shaft is configured, at least at one of the two ends thereof, in such a way that it can be respectively coupled to the first or second shaft in an axially sliding manner.

  • Patent number: 7281442
Abstract: A reduction gearbox with an epicyclic gear train is provided for a motor vehicle starter. This gearbox includes a crown (30) comprising a outer crown part (31) and an inner crown part (32) carrying an internal set of teeth (33) together with shock absorbing elements (34). The the damping elements (34) are made in the form of plates disposed in seatings which consist of complementary recesses (36, 37) formed respectively in an outer peripheral face (38) of the inner crown part (32) and in an inner peripheral face (39) of the outer crown part (31). Each recess has a depth which increases in a direction of relative angular displacement between the two crown parts, considered from the peripheral surface, over a length (a) which corresponds to the length of the plate, to a value (b) which is substantially equal to the thickness of the plate.

  • Patent number: 7176597
Abstract: An electromagnetic retarder (1) for a vehicle includes a disc (20), a first rotor (5) and a second rotor (6), the disc being arranged to couple the first rotor and the second rotor to a transmission shaft of a vehicle. In order to facilitate fitting of this transmission shaft on the electromagnetic retarder, the invention provides for positioning the disc on one of the two rotors in such a way that the disc is placed in a position offset longitudinally, with respect to an axis (21) of the retarder, towards one of the two rotors. The disc includes fastening means for fastening the disc on the corresponding rotor, which fastening means (22) are such that they are positioned between curved arms (9, 10) of the rotor.
