  • Patent number: 5290617
Abstract: A sliding structure for high load and having high strength as well as sufficient lubricating performance, wherein a solid lubricating material is buried in a sliding surface, an oil reservoir of a predetermined capacity is formed on the reverse of the surface; oil supplying pores extend from the oil reservoir to the sliding surface; and a continuous pore material inserted into the oil supplying pore which provides a limited supply of oil to the sliding surface concerned.

  • Patent number: 4808486
Abstract: A machine part such as a cylinder or a feeding screw of an injection molding machine and the like is produced such that a separating metallic plate is inserted in a mold adapted to mold the cylinder or the feeding screw, thereby providing two molding cavities on both sides of the separating plate, and melted metals adapted to form a main portion and a corrosion and wear resistant portion of the cylinder or feeding screw are poured into the two cavities. In this manner the two kinds of metals poured into the two cavities are metallurgically fused together with the separating plate interposed therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4750667
Abstract: A method whereby a base member having a surface on which a wear-resistant layer is formed and a mold member are disposed in opposing relation so as to form a gap between the surface of the base member and the surface of the mold member opposing the surface of the base member. Sintered hard substance grains of a hard substance powder such as material selected from carbides, nitrides and borides of metals belonging to groups IV, V and VI of the periodic table are filled in the afore-mentioned gap along the wear-resistant layer forming surface of the base member. A metal of self-melting alloy is then permeated into a filling-up layer of the sintered hard substance grains. The mold member is thereafter removed and the exposed surface is polished to obtain a fine wear-resistant layer on the base member.

  • Patent number: 4510371
Abstract: A surface of a linear magnetic bar is subjected to such high density energy as a fine beam of laser rays, electrons, ions, plasma or an electric current to change permeability of portions subjected to the high density energy so as to form graduations spaced uniformly. A magnetic sensor is used to detect variation in the permeability, thus measuring movement, speed or acceleration of the scale relative to the magnetic sensor. The scale may be formed on a movable portion of a machine, for example a piston rod of a die casting machine or an injection molding machine.

  • Patent number: 4178983
Abstract: In a method for manufacturing a stainless steel die cast product having low melting point, an alloy consisting of 0.01-0.1% by weight of carbon, 1.0-3.0% by weight of silicon, not more than 12% by weight (but excluding 3-7% by weight) of manganese, 8-25% by weight of nickel, 16-20% by weight of chromium, 1.5-2.5% by weight of copper, 0.2-0.7% by weight of boron, 0.5-2.0% by weight of molybdenum and the balance of iron is die-casted in a metal mold made of a tungsten alloy or a molybdenum alloy and maintained at a temperature of the metal mold of 250.degree.-450.degree. C. under conditions of a casting temperature higher than the liquid phase temperature of the molten alloy by 100.degree.-150.degree. C., an injection pressure of 200-500 kg/cm.sup.2, and an injection plunger speed of 0.2-1.0 m/sec.
