  • Patent number: 9743093
Abstract: A video compression technique relates to gaming machines which comprise a display to display images; a user interface to receive input from displayed screen images; a memory; and a game controller configured to control display of the images and process input received via the user interface. The game controller is further configured to receive an image sequence comprising a plurality of frames and, for each frame, to divide the frame into a series of blocks; compress each of the blocks using a first compression technique to form a series of compressed blocks; for each compressed block in the frame, identify whether the block is identical to a previous block within the frame and, if so, replace the compressed block with an index to the previous block; for each compressed block in the frame, determine a data difference between the compressed block and a corresponding block in an immediately preceding frame.

  • Patent number: 9697675
Abstract: A gaming machine has a touch screen interface, a memory to store predetermined rules, and a processor. The processor may display, on the touch screen interface, a virtual environment, a first virtual object and a second virtual object. The first virtual object and second virtual object may behave according to the predetermined rules within the virtual environment. The processor may also detect, via the touch screen interface, a series of player's touch inputs on the second virtual object to update a property of the second virtual object. The processor may then determine an interaction between the first virtual object and the second virtual object having the updated property, and based on the interaction, the processor may update the first virtual object and/or second virtual object within the virtual environment.

  • Patent number: 9659457
Abstract: A gaming machine includes a player interface and an electronic controller arranged to control play of a game on the player interface. Prior to commencement of a bonus round, the electronic controller is arranged to display on the player interface a range of bonus features. Then in response to receiving via the player interface a player-selected bonus feature, the electronic controller determines a number of bonus games to be awarded to the player in the bonus round. The determination of the number of bonus games is randomized and is equalized so that a return to player percentage is at least equal to a predetermined return to player. The gaming machine is further arranged such that the player selected bonus feature applies to each and every awarded bonus game in the bonus round.

  • Patent number: 9659431
Abstract: A gaming machine has a display device; an input device; and a controller comprising a processor and a memory device. The memory device stores a plurality of instructions which when executed by the processor cause the processor to operate with the display device and the input device to display game data in the gaming window on the display device for each of a plurality of plays of a game. The gaming window has sides defining a geometrical shape and defining an enclosed area for presenting the game data on the display device. Upon a replay triggering event, the processor resizes the geometric shape of the gaming window and replays at least one of a plurality of plays of the game in the resized gaming window, wherein the game data displayed in the resized gaming window is accordingly scaled.

  • Publication number: 20150302704
Abstract: A gaming machine includes display means and a user interface to receive input in relation to displayed images, and a game controller configured to control images of symbols displayed on the display means and to play a primary game of chance. The game of chance includes emulating spinning and randomly stopping virtual reels to display an image of symbols in a matrix of symbol positions. The game controller determines a trigger event during the play of the primary game of chance, the trigger event including trigger event symbols composed of a predetermined number and a type of symbol, and in response to the trigger event, to reconfigure at least a subset of the matrix of symbol positions from the randomly stopped virtual reels, said subset excluding said trigger event symbols, the reconfigured subset of symbols defining a second screen feature which is distinct from the primary game of chance.
