  • Patent number: 9813074
Abstract: Methods, apparatus and articles of manufacture (e.g., physical storage media) to calibrate interpolating string digital-to-analog converters are disclosed. Example methods disclosed herein to calibrate a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) include determining a first calibration codeword based on a first nonlinearity error value measured at an output of the DAC when a most-significant-bit (MSB) portion of an input codeword is applied to an input of the DAC. Such disclosed example methods also include determining a second calibration codeword based on a second measured nonlinearity error value measured at the output of the DAC when a least-significant-bit (LSB) portion of the input codeword is applied to the input of the DAC. Such disclosed example methods further include combining the first calibration codeword and the second calibration codeword to determine a third calibration codeword to be accessed by the DAC to calibrate the output of the DAC when the input codeword is applied to the DAC.

  • Patent number: 9811229
Abstract: A touch sensor apparatus includes a grid of intersecting sensor lines, a plurality of input/output (IO) pins, a plurality of diodes, a processor coupled to the IO pins. More specifically, each intersection includes a capacitor coupling together the intersecting sensor lines. Each diode is coupled to a corresponding IO pin, wherein each IO pin couples through its corresponding diode to a channel of intersection points of the sensor lines and, without the diode, each IO pin couples to a different channel of intersecting points of the sensor lines. The processor is configured to sequentially provide a transmit signal through each IO pin while detecting a response signal on the other IO pins.

  • Publication number: 20160237795
Abstract: There is disclosed a rotary-pad gas lift plunger. In an embodiment, the pads rotate around the mandrel. This rotation movement results from two features. The first one is the assembly of the mandrel and the pad retaining rings. The second one is the shape of the wearing pad. The rotation movement results from the plunger travel up and down within the tubing. Rotation with uniform wearing helps to maintain the sealing effect between the wearing pads and the inside of the tubing. This uniform wearing on the surface of pads improves efficiency to displace oil and water from oil and gas wells. The uniform wearing also causes a significant increase in the service life of the plunger. Because of the rotation movement, this gas lift plunger can operate in deviated wells where a typical gas lift plunger is restricted.
