  • Publication number: 20170332394
Abstract: A self-organizing network engine for optimizing a telecommunications network is described. The telecommunications network may be a heterogeneous network with different hierarchical layers, such as macro cells and small cells. For example, the telecommunications network may include a macro cell with a small cell located inside the macro cell. The self-organizing network engine is configured to obtain traffic data describing traffic in the macro cell and in the small cell. The traffic data provides an indication of the load on each of the macro cell and the small cell and can be used to determine, for example, if the macro cell is overloaded and user devices need to be offloaded to the small cell.

  • Publication number: 20170048870
Abstract: Analysis of cellular network base stations may be performed by a computational engine. A ranking of the cellular network base stations, generated at an Automatic Neighbour Relation (ANR) function of a Self-Organising Network (SON) platform is received. A set of base stations for coordinated operation is determined based on the received ranking of the cellular network base stations.

  • Publication number: 20160156520
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for management, control and optimisation of a telecommunications network based on user experience policies that define user experience for one or more service(s) provided over a telecommunications network including one or more network nodes. The methods and apparatus make user experience measurements in the telecommunications network to ensure that the user experience policies are being met for user equipment and corresponding users in the network that use the one or more service(s). The methods and apparatus automatically changes certain parameters or adjusts the one or more network nodes in the network using one or more network performance mechanisms if the user experience policies associated with one or more users are not being met. The network continues to monitor the user experience measurements and, if necessary, change or adjust the network node(s), to ensure that user experience policies continue to be met.

  • Publication number: 20140376423
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of cancelling interference caused by a transmitter of a first wireless system to a receiver of a second wireless system, the transmitter and receiver being operative in adjacent frequency bands. The method comprises receiving a signal at the second wireless system that is corrupted by interference caused by a wireless transmission from the first wireless system; providing the second wireless system with transmitted symbols of the wireless transmission from the first wireless system; and processing the signal received at the second wireless system using the transmitted symbols of the wireless transmission in order to cancel the interference.

  • Publication number: 20130137486
Abstract: In a cellular communication system a first and a second set of antennas are arranged at an antenna site. First and second baseband processing blocks are coupled to the antennas of the first and second antennas respectively. To improve the connection to a terminal an antenna of the second set is coupled to the first baseband processing block in addition to the antennas of the first set. Communication with the terminal is performed via at least one antenna of the first and at least one antenna of the second set. The first and second set of antennas can belong to two different network operators. By applying this invention, the two network operators can share the antenna pool of the first and second set of antennas even if the antennas are the existing ones at the same top-roof or tower.
