    Abstract: In at least some implementations, a vehicle includes a body having a front end, a front compartment and a hood received over at least part of the front compartment. A hood moving assembly is coupled to the hood to move the hood away from the front compartment and from a closed position. A thermal camera is carried by the body and has a field of view that includes an area in front of the front end. And a controller is coupled to the thermal camera and to the hood moving assembly. The thermal camera provides an output to the controller from which a determination can be made of the presence of an animate object in the field of view, and wherein the controller is responsive to the output of the thermal camera to selectively actuate the hood moving assembly to move the vehicle hood.

    Abstract: A system and method associated with a stator support device is provided for use in supporting a stator of an electric motor during manufacturing thereof. The stator support device includes a base platform for supporting the stator and facilitating transport of the stator during manufacturing. At least two rollers are spaced apart from each other a predetermined distance along a width of the base platform. Each of the rollers includes a frame structure securing the rollers in spaced relation to the base platform, wherein the predetermined distance is a function of an external diameter of the stator. The support device, via the rollers, is configured to receive and support the stator in spaced relation to the base platform. The rollers are configured to selectively i) maintain a stationary position of the stator, and ii) facilitate rotation of the stator about its longitudinal axis relative to the base platform.

    Abstract: A robotic gap filler application station for an assembly line includes a robotic arm, a tooling head coupled to an end of the robotic arm, a first dispensing nozzle removably coupled to the tooling head and configured to dispense a first type of gap filler material, and a second dispensing nozzle removably coupled to the tooling head and configured to dispense a second type of gap filler material. A gap filler dispensing system is configured to supply the first and second types of gap filler material to the respective first and second dispensing nozzles to simultaneously apply the first and second types of gap filler to a component on the assembly line.
