  • Patent number: 10690042
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for controlling coolant flow through parallel branches of a coolant circuit including an AC condenser and a charge air cooler. Flow is apportioned responsive to an AC head pressure and a CAC temperature to reduce parasitic losses and improve fuel economy. The flow is apportioned via adjustments to a coolant pump output and a proportioning valve.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 27, 2016
Date of Patent: June 23, 2020
    Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLC
Inventors: Amey Y. Karnik, John Smiley, III, Zhaoyang Zeng, David Karl Bidner

  • Patent number: 8806858
Abstract: An exhaust system for an engine is disclosed herein. The exhaust system includes a catalytic converter, an exhaust manifold upstream from the catalytic converter, and a heat pipe in thermal contact with the exhaust manifold and atmosphere. The system further includes a phase changing material that passively absorbs heat after catalytic light-off.

  • Publication number: 20120329308
Abstract: A connector terminal includes a main body having at least one contact section extended from a first end of the main body; a first cable connecting unit horizontally located above an opposite second end of the main body; and a second cable connecting unit vertically extended from an end of the first cable connecting unit in a direction opposite to the main body. With the above structure, the connector terminal can be used with either a 90-degree connector or a 180-degree connector, and to electrically connect cables to the 90-degree connector via the first cable connecting unit or to the 180-degree connector via the second cable connecting unit. Therefore, the connector terminal provides good applicability, and the costs for manufacturing and storing connector terminals can be reduced.
