Abstract: A fluid detection system for a dishwashing machine can include a tank adapted to hold a fluid during a cleaning cycle the tank adapted to function as an electrical ground, a probe including a first electrode positioned to contact the fluid within the tank when the fluid is at a first fluid level, a second electrode positioned to contact the fluid within the tank when the fluid is at a second fluid level, and a mounting flange adapted to be secured to a first vertical wall or a second vertical wall of the tank; and, a control circuit adapted to provide alternating current to the probe, and, based on a signal from the first electrode or the second electrode, cause fluid to be pumped into the tank or to be drained from the tank during a cleaning cycle.
