  • Patent number: 10591711
Abstract: A microscope (10) for obtaining a high dynamic range synthesized image (21) of an object (12) from a plurality of low dynamic range input images (19) comprises a controller (14), an incoherent light source (16) for illuminating the object (12) at different light intensity levels, and a recording device (18) for recording the plurality of low dynamic range input images (19), wherein each of the low dynamic range input images (19) is recorded at a different light intensity level. The controller (14) is configured to control the recording device (18) such that during recording of the series of the low dynamic range images the recording parameters for obtaining the plurality of low dynamic range input images (19) are kept constant.

  • Patent number: 7644505
Abstract: The levelling rod (1) for a level determining apparatus (2) has position indications therealong along expressed by barcode symbols (11, 12). At least some of said barcode symbols are color barcode symbols, the color serving to encode said position indications. The barcode symbols can be organised in first and second blocks (12, 11) of barcode symbols, each providing a position indication, wherein the length (Ls) occupied along the rod (1) by a first block (12) is smaller than the length (Lb) occupied along the rod by a second block (11), the first blocks thereby providing a finer position indication than the second blocks. The first blocks (12) of barcode symbols can be formed of monochrome and color bar code symbols, e.g. just one color barcode symbol and at least one monochrome barcode symbol, while the second blocks (11) can be formed purely of color barcode symbols. The invention also relates to a level determining apparatus specifically adapted for the above rod, and to a method of using that rod.

  • Patent number: 5910140
Abstract: The laser medical device includes a Nd:YAlO.sub.3 laser crystal; a pumping system which illuminates the laser crystal with light irradiated from a pumping light source and achieves population inversion of Nd.sup.3+ ion in the laser crystal; and a resonant cavity for resonating light emitted from the Nd.sup.3+ ion to output a laser light having a predetermined wavelength, wherein the wavelength of the laser light falls within the transparent range of quartz optical fibers. The laser medical device may also include a quartz optical fiber for transmitting the laser light; an optical fiber injector for focusing the laser light output by the resonant cavity on one end of the optical fiber; and an optical fiber pen which is coupled to another end of the optical fiber for aiming the laser light transmitted through the optical fiber at a desired location of a subject. These devices use Nd:YAlO.sub.3 crystal as an active laser material and output laser light having a wavelength, such as 1341.4 nm and 1079.
