  • Publication number: 20070222974
Abstract: The radiation beam of discrete light source such as LEDs is shaped by a cylindrical lens and a spherical lens to form two perpendicular narrow lines to illuminate a surface. The first line is projected onto a sample surface to improve illumination efficiency, and the second line is projected onto a pupil plane of an imaging lens to improve illumination uniformity. The layout of the LED chip is optimized to match the aspect ratio of the imaging detector. Multiple LEDs at different wavelengths are combined to improve sensitivity. The full surface of the sample is inspected through the relative motion between the sample and the optics.

  • Patent number: 7054853
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for performing efficient association traversal operations in a Common Information Model (CIM) implemented environment. A CIM Object Manager creates and defines instance objects and corresponding association objects in a repository. The CIM Object Manager creates wrappers for each object that include reverse links that show the relationship from an object to any corresponding association objects. When a relationship request for a selected object is received by the CIM Object Manager, it performs an association traversal operation using the reverse links stored in the repository. The CIM Object Manager locates the target object's wrapper in the repository, and collects relationship information from the reverse links included within the wrapper. The collected relationship information is then passed to the entity that initiated the request. Accordingly, efficient association traversals may be performed, without having to traverse each instance of defined association objects.

  • Publication number: 20050240484
Abstract: A handheld device (100) is capable of communicating wirelessly with a ticket issuer (200) through a network (300) or by using a short-range link such as Bluetooth, IrDA, or the like. A ticket is purchased using a payment system (400). A user selects an image from a data store (120) and transmits it to the ticket issuer (200) along with data associated with the requested ticket This data may comprise identification data of the user and/or the device (100), data concerning a requested validity of the ticket, data concerning the payment method and/or an optional reservation number. The ticket issuer (200) receives the request then transmits to the user a template, which the user then fills in before transmitting payment data, the completed template and the selected image from the user device (100) to the ticket issuer (200), as one or more SMS and/or MMS messages.

  • Publication number: 20050070257
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for providing an active ticket in a mobile terminal for use by a mobile terminal user, wherein at least one active ticket has a ticket characteristic that dynamically changes based on one or more states in a life cycle of the active ticket. Dynamic changes to the ticket characteristic include multimedia changes or other presentation data, including text, sound (audio), animation, video, still pictures, or some combination thereof. The active ticket can have different states in it's life cycle, such as purchased, validated, invalid for certain events. Also the ticket service provider or issuer can send new control data to change the characteristic and/or contents of the active ticket.

  • Publication number: 20050033987
Abstract: A system and method is provided that establishes and maintains conditional trust by stating a signal of distrust from a trustee's computing platform to a trustor's computing platform. The trustor attests a trustee at a given time and also sends trust conditions to the trustee upon which the trustor trusts the trustee for some intended purpose. The trust conditions may include restrictions on hardware or software components and any status changes to the hardware or software components. The trustee then monitors the hardware and software components in relation to the trust conditions and reports distrust signals when the trustee's hardware and software configuration no longer matches the trust conditions.

  • Publication number: 20030225854
Abstract: The invention is a method and a network providing efficient and controlled DRM of digital rights within one or more VPNs (12). A network (10) in accordance with the invention includes at least one digital rights user (18 and 20), each digital rights user being a user of digital rights, a DRR (30) of the digital rights, a VPN (12), a DRDS (32), coupled to the at least one DRU, and to the storage, which distributes the digital rights to the at least one DRU, and a DRPM (34), coupled to the DRDS which controls providing of the digital rights stored in the DRR to the at least one DRU.

  • Patent number: 6633371
Abstract: Method and apparatus for wavelength control and measurement are disclosed. An optical signal to be measured is tapped off a portion thereof referring to as a source signal. Together with a reference signal, the source signal is coupled to a tunable filter. The frequency response or passing band of the tunable filter is so controlled that one wavelength &lgr;x from the source signal and one wavelength &lgr;rx from the reference signal transmit through. Relying on a band separation filter, the wavelength &lgr;rx is separated from the reference signal and coupled to a gas cell of a known spectrum, a filtered signal of the wavelength &lgr;rx is then coupled to a photo-detector for subsequent electrical measurement. In accordance with the known spectrum, the wavelength &lgr;x can be precisely derived.

  • Publication number: 20030076955
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for allowing content providers to protect against widespread copying of their content, while enabling them to give their customers more freedom in the way they use the content. In accordance with one embodiment, content providers identify their content as protected by watermarking the content. Consumers use compliant devices to access protected content. All of a user's compliant devices, or all of a family's devices, can be organized into an authorized domain. This authorized domain is used by content providers to create a logical boundary in which they can allow users increased freedom to use their content.
