  • Publication number: 20210345886
Abstract: In an aspect, there is provided a temperature scanner for measuring a temperature of a selected area on a human subject having a first eye and a second eye. The temperature scanner includes an infra-red sensor, a first reflective surface region, a second reflective surface region, and a controller. The infra-red sensor has a selected field of view so as to detect a temperature of the selected area of the human subject when the selected area is positioned to completely fill the field of view. The first reflective surface region is concave, has a first principal axis, and has a first focal point along the first principal axis. The first reflective surface region and the second reflective surface region are positioned relative to the infra-red sensor such that positioning the first eye of the human subject at a selected first eye position and positioning the second eye of the human subject at a selected second eye position positions the selected area of the human subject to completely fill the field of view.

  • Patent number: 11105339
Abstract: In an aspect, a pump is provided and includes a pump housing having a pump inlet and a pump outlet. An impeller is rotatably supported in the pump housing for rotation about an impeller axis, and has an impeller inlet configured for drawing in liquid during rotation of the impeller, and an impeller outlet configured for discharging liquid in a generally radial direction. A diverter is pivotally connected in an impeller outlet receiving chamber in the pump housing. The diverter is movable between a first position in which it provides a first restriction to flow out from the pump housing and a second position in which it provides a second restriction to flow out from the pump housing that is greater than the first restriction. In the first position, the diverter forms at least a portion of a volute around at least a portion of the impeller.

  • Patent number: 11028897
Abstract: In an aspect, a torsional vibration damper is provided, comprising a hub portion that mounts to a crankshaft, an outer ring that includes an inertial mass, a plurality of radial connectors that are elastically deformable and a plurality of spacers that extend circumferentially between the radial connectors and which are elastically deformable by the radial connectors during flexure thereof. The spacers are non-metallic and dissipate energy from deformation via conversion to heat. The plurality of radial connectors have a circumferential spring rate K1a in bending in a circumferential direction about the axis, and have an axial spring rate K1b in bending in an axial direction, wherein K1b is at least 10 times as large as K1a. The plurality of spacers have a circumferential spring rate Kra in the circumferential direction, and an axial spring rate Krb in bending in the axial direction, wherein Kra is less than 1% of K1a.
