  • Publication number: 20250247773
Abstract: In implementations of the present disclosure, there is provided an approach for performing scanning operations on a channel. A method comprises receiving a request for scanning on a second channel different from the first channel. Moreover, a first duration for the scanning of the second channel is determined based on the request. Then, a second duration for preventing a station from sending a packet to the AP on the first channel is determined based on the first duration. Thus, a beacon frame or a probe response frame including a quiet element or a traffic identifier (TID)-to-link mapping element may be generated based on the second duration. The beacon frame or the probe response frame is then transmitted to the station. Implementations of the present disclosure can avoid the packet loss on the working channel when the AP scans on the foreign channels, and improve the service quality.

  • Publication number: 20250227733
Abstract: In implementations of the present disclosure, there is provided an approach for transmitting a broadcast frame (BC) or a multicast (MC) frame. A method comprises obtaining a BC frame or an MC frame. Moreover, multiple links used by an access point (AP) multi-link device (MLD) are determined. Then, a master link is selected from the multiple links based on the usage condition of the multiple links. The BC frame or the MC frame is converted to a unicast frame for the master link. Next, the unicast frame is transmitted to a station MLD of the set of stations by using the master link. Implementations of the present disclosure can reduce a waste of time for a station MLD, a waste of channel resources, and serious issues for dynamic multicast optimization on the station side.

  • Publication number: 20250212056
Abstract: In implementations of the present disclosure, a switching mechanism for dynamic multicast optimization (DMO) feature is provided. An access point (AP) multi-link device (MLD) determines an average rate for downlink (DL) traffic to a plurality of stations (STAs) on a link, a first index based on a number of the STAs on the link, an average length of non-unicast (UC) frames, the average rate and a predetermined parameter and a second index based on the average length of non-UC frames and a basic rate for the STAs on the link. The AP MLD compares the first index and the second index, and triggers the DMO based on the comparison of the first index and the second index. Implementations of the present disclosure can improve channel utilization. In some implementations, it can reduce the number of missed frames for multi-link single radio (MLSR) cases and reduce broadcast or multicast latency.

  • Publication number: 20240365419
Abstract: In implementations of the present disclosure, a retry mechanism for access point multi-link device is provided. An access point (AP) multi-link device (MLD) detects a trigger condition for a retry on a first link. After detecting the trigger condition, the AP MLD further selects a second link from a plurality of links. The AP MLD then selects a retry mode from a plurality of retry modes for the second link, and transmits a retry packet on the second link using the selected retry mode. Implementations of the present disclosure can fully utilize the MLD properties to help speed up the transmissions of the retry frames, and can reduce the channel occupation and increase the channel utilization of the retry frames.

  • Publication number: 20240147276
Abstract: Implementations of the present disclosure relate to link failure detection. In the implementations, an access point (AP) determines a power save mode of each of a plurality of links established between the AP and a station. If at least two links of the plurality of links are in a power save mode, the AP determines a detection time period for detecting signals based on beacon intervals of the at least two links. The AP then transmits detection signals to the station in the at least two links during the detection time period. The AP determines connectivity of the at least two links based on responses to the detection signals received from the station. In this way, all the failed links in power save mode can be efficiently detected, thereby facilitating transmission scheduling between the AP and station.

  • Publication number: 20240147457
Abstract: In implementations of the present disclosure, there is provided an approach for scheduling uplink traffic of a station. A method comprises determining a type of uplink traffic from a station (STA), wherein the type of uplink traffic is associated with a traffic size and an urgency. The method further comprises determining uplink scheduling information for the STA based on the traffic size and the urgency, wherein the uplink scheduling information indicates at least one of: a UL-OFDMA scheduling manner or a UL-MU-MIMO scheduling manner. The method further comprises sending the uplink scheduling information to the STA, and receiving uplink traffic from the STA using the uplink scheduling information. Implementations of the present disclosure can help AP to schedule the STA(s) more intelligent, effective and accurate, and thus the user experience can be enhanced and the transmission performance can be improved.

  • Patent number: 11902886
Abstract: Examples of techniques for optimizing Neighbour Report (NR) are disclosed. In an example, a first virtual access point (VAP) operating in a 2.4 Giga Hertz (GHz) or 5 GHz band may determine a first Service Set Identifier (SSID) of the first VAP operating in a 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band. The first VAP may identify a set of co-located VAPs operating in a 6 GHz band. The first VAP may filter the set of co-located VAPs to obtain a neighbour list comprising a second VAP, from the set, having a second SSID identical to the first SSID. Using the neighbour list, the first VAP may generate a Neighbour Report.

  • Patent number: 11706008
Abstract: In embodiments of the present disclosure, there is provided an approach for channel sounding. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, if the CSI change rate exceeds a first threshold, the AP may disable the beamforming. If the CSI change rate does not exceed the first threshold but exceeds a second threshold below the first threshold, the AP may perform the channel sounding at a first time interval. Otherwise, if the CSI change rate does not exceed the second threshold, the AP may perform the channel sounding at a second time interval. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an effective way for channel sounding.
