  • Publication number: 20230279473
Abstract: An apparatus for a lateral flow nucleic acid assay with an integrated pore-based detector, which has the potential to detect pathogens, both microbial and viral, in aqueous samples in approximately 5 minutes or less without nucleic acid amplification or optical components. The detector is based on an electromechanical signal transduction mechanism that enables low-cost detection of DNA/RNA at ultralow concentrations (down to about 10 M to about 19 M). The scheme relies on the use of charge-neutral peptide nucleic acid (PNA) capture probe conjugated to polystyrene beads. The PNA-beads acquire substantial negative charge upon capture of target pathogenic DNA/RNA and become mobile in an electric field. Upon application of a bias voltage of around 1 V to 2 V, the PNA-beads with hybridized target are directed electrophoretically to a smaller diameter pore. Subsequent pore blockage results in a strong, sustained drop in measured ionic current through the pore.

  • Patent number: 11256021
Abstract: A slab waveguide, comprising a plate having parallel surfaces and a cascade light splitting film. The plate is used for receiving and transmitting incident waveguide light which bears a transmitted image. The splitting film is disposed in the plate, intersects the upper and lower surface of the plate, and is used for reflecting the incident waveguide light out of the slab waveguide to form an actual image. In order to avoid mirror image coincidence, the waveguide needs to satisfy: |arcsin(n×sin(90°?4a+b))?arcsin(n×sin(90°?2a?b))1>2?, wherein a is an inclined angle between the cascade light splitting film and the lower surface of the plate, b is an inclined angle between central image light of the incident waveguide light and the lower surface of the plate, ? is an image display viewing angle of the transmitted image, and n is the refractive index of the plate.

  • Patent number: 10914934
Abstract: The invention discloses a wide-field multi-scale high-resolution microscopic imaging system, which includes a light source, a sample, a microscope imaging objective system, an acquisition system, and a workstation. The microscope imaging objective system is used for forming an image after a light beam emitted by the light source illuminates the sample. To obtain a wide-field curved image plane, the acquisition system includes an acquisition lens array for subfield acquisition of the curved image plane, and a camera array for secondary imaging. The workstation is used for analyzing the acquired image in overlapping fields of view, and performing image splicing based on the fields of view, to finally obtain a wide-field high-resolution image. Because of the desire for an improvement to an imaging method, this invention realizes multi-scale high-resolution observation from cells, tissues, to organs while ensuring a wide field of view.
