Abstract: Systems and methods for providing an integrated or Smart NIC-based hardware accelerator for a network security device to facilitate identification and mitigation of DoS attacks is provided. According to one embodiment, a processor of a network security device receives an application layer protocol request from a client, directed to a domain hosted by various servers and protected by the network security device. The application layer protocol request is parsed to extract a domain name and a path string. The hardware acceleration sub-system updates rate-based counters based on the application layer protocol request by performing a longest prefix match on the domain name and the path string. When a rate threshold associated with the rate-based counters is exceeded, a challenge message is created and transmitted to the client, having embedded therein the application layer protocol request; otherwise the application layer protocol request is allowed to pass through the network security device.

According to one embodiment, acceleration device of a host device associated with datacenter receives an input stream of information. The received information is matched with contents of a hash-based lookup table to identify one or more units, which satisfy at least one condition for any or a combination of a string match and a range comparison. The identified one or more units are correlated based on a set of conditions, which define at least one rule related to any of a network policy definition, a packet inspection rule, a database operation command or a format of the input stream. Any or a combination of exact string matching and exact range matching is then performed based on the at least one set of correlated units.

Abstract: Systems and methods for accelerating computer network policy searching are provided. According to one embodiment, a packet is received by a policy search engine (PSE) of a packet processing device. A set of candidate policies are identified from among multiple policies of the packet processing device by screening the multiple policies by a speculation unit of the PSE based on metadata associated with the received packet. Finally, a matching policy for the received packet is identified by a policy search processor (PSP) of the PSE by executing policy-search-specific instructions and general purpose instructions.

The detection time of the navigator echo after the stimulated echo sequence as well as the acquisition time of the stimulated echo sequence, are thus eliminated when the first diaphragm position information does not meet requirements, so can significantly reduce scanning time, and increase the image SNR.
