Abstract: A powered lift chair comprises a frame, a backrest, left and right armrests, a seat, a footrest, and a pair of linear actuator mechanisms. A first one of the pair of linear actuator mechanisms is utilized to control the backrest of the chair, while the second one of the pair of linear actuator mechanisms is utilized to move the frame of the chair between a lowered position and an elevated position, as well as to move the seat of the chair between a substantially horizontal orientation and a tilted orientation such that the forward end portion of the seat is tilted downwardly while the rearward end portion of the seat is tilted upwardly, all while the left and right armrests are fixed in position and disposed within horizontal planes.

Abstract: A mechanism for a zero-gravity reclining chair enables the zero-gravity reclining chair to achieve different positions, states, or modes, including a seated position, state, or mode, a standing position, state, or mode, a TV position, state, or mode, and a reclining position, state, or mode. The mechanism includes left and right-side linkage systems, as well as first and second linear actuators for moving the linkage system and chair components between the different positions, states, or modes. When the zero-gravity reclining chair is disposed at its reclining position, state, or mode, the backrest portion of the zero-gravity reclining chair is disposed at an elevational level which is the same as, or slightly below, that of the footrest portion of the chair so as to provide the occupant of the zero-gravity reclining chair with enhanced health effects.

The swivel base assembly provides the necessary electrical power to the electrically powered chair without the electrical power cord becoming entangled around the upstanding column, or similar support structure, upon which the body portion of the electrically powered chair is mounted upon the swivel base assembly if the electrically powered chair is rotated multiple times through means of an angular displacement or movement of 360° or more, as a result of the disposition of a rotary electrical connected interposed between the swivel base assembly and the electrically powered chair.
