  • Publication number: 20050124219
Abstract: A power connector (1) includes an insulating housing (10), a number of contacts (20) received in the insulative housing, a first and a second shielding shells (30,40). The insulating housing has a base (101), and a tongue (103) extending horizontally from the base and including an upper mating face (1031) and a lower mating face (1032) parallel to the upper mating face. A number of receiving passages (105) are defined through the base toward the tongue. A plurality of receiving slots (104) extend from the upper mating face to the lower mating face to communicate with corresponding receiving passages. Each contact has a contact portion (201) received in corresponding receiving slot. The contact portion has a first and a second contact surfaces (202, 203) respectively exposed in the upper and the lower mating face.

  • Publication number: 20050112952
Abstract: An electrical connector (1) includes a dielectric housing (10), a number of contacts (30) and a shell (20) enclosing the dielectric housing. The dielectric housing defines a number of passageways (14) for receiving the contacts. The contacts comprise a signal contact (31) and two pairs of power contacts (32, 33). The signal contact is attached to a center of the dielectric housing and the power contacts are symmetrically arranged around the signal contact. In such a manner, the electrical connector can transmit the signal and power simultaneously and can blind-mate with a complementary connector without regarding the orientation of the complementary connector.

  • Publication number: 20050064747
Abstract: An electrical connector (100) mounted on a printed circuit board includes an insulative housing (2) and a terminal module (3) received in the housing. The insulative housing (2) defines a receiving cavity (24) for receiving a mating electrical connector and a top plate (22) with a cutout (221). The terminal module is received in the insulative housing and comprises a dielectric body (30) and a plurality of conductive terminals (31) fixed in the body. Each conductive terminal includes a contact portion (312) for electrically connecting with the mating electrical connector and a fixing portion fixed in the dielectric body. The dielectric body comprises a substantially horizontal portion (301) for engaging with the cutout of the insulative housing and a mating recess (303) positioned on a front edge of the horizontal portion, thereby forming a ladder-shaped front portion thereof, with the fixing portion of the conductive terminal positioned in a bottom portion of the horizontal portion.
