  • Patent number: 10781671
Abstract: A method of controlling fines migration in a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation, the method comprising: introducing into the wellbore a screen mesh in an unexpanded form disposed of a first tubular member having a body with apertures, the screen mesh comprising a degradable material; expanding the screen mesh; injecting a cement slurry into the wellbore to fill open spaces within the expanded screen mesh; allowing the cement slurry to set forming a set cement that reduces or substantially preventing the passage of formation particles from migrating from the subterranean formation into the wellbore; and removing the degradable material of the screen mesh forming a fluid pathway in the set cement, which allows a formation fluid to flow from the subterranean formation into the wellbore.

  • Publication number: 20200292083
Abstract: An injection valve for introducing fluids into a subsurface environment includes a valve housing including a conduit having an inlet and an outlet. A valve seat is arranged in the valve housing. An anti-rotation dart is arranged in the valve housing adjacent the valve seat. The anti-rotation dart includes a valve element that is selectively engageable with the valve seat. An anti-rotation feature is provided on at least one of the valve seat and the anti-rotation dart. The anti-rotation feature constrains rotation of the anti-rotation dart relative to the valve seat.

  • Patent number: 10774618
Abstract: A downhole power generator module having a body with one or more couplings that are configured to connect the body to a downhole tool string positioned downhole in a wellbore. An axial passageway is formed through the outer housing and couplings. The power generator module has a pressure-driven electric generator such as a triboelectric or piezoelectric generator positioned within the body. A port in the body enables communication of well fluids from the wellbore to the generator. Pressure changes in the well fluids are communicated to the pressure-driven electric generator, causing it to autonomously generate electric power downhole. The generated power is provided directly to other downhole tools without intervention from the surface.

  • Publication number: 20200080398
Abstract: A mandrel in production tubing within a well has a side pocket with an inlet port for connection to an upper control line segment that extends upward alongside the production tubing. An outlet port is below the inlet port for connection to a lower control line segment extending below the pocket. A filter assembly is lowered through the production tubing into the pocket. A valve at a lower end of the pocket is movable from a closed position closing the outlet port to an open position opening the outlet port. A probe mounted to a lower end of the filter assembly engages and pushes the valve from the closed position to the open position while the filter assembly is being seated in the pocket.

  • Patent number: 10458194
Abstract: Spring discs are rotationally locked to the mandrel are between pairs of actuation rings that feature a circumferential protrusion. On application of axial force release of a stored force from flexing, the protrusion engages a sloping portion of the spring disc and moves the sloping portion toward a more vertical orientation. Alternatively, a release of a stored force from flexing accomplishes the same result. Slots in the spring disc allow irregular growth to conform to surface irregularities of a surrounding surface. The discs can serve as anchors, centralizers or supports for a sealing element in a packer. Ends of fingers feature stiffeners to enhance strength. The discs can be stacked apart or together and oriented in the same or opposed directions. The can deliver an axial force when stacked and pushed toward flat and released.

  • Patent number: 10260310
Abstract: A high pressure high temperature packer features an actuation assembly of a plurality of rings rotationally locked to a mandrel and initially spaced apart. A pressure actuated piston responsive to tubing pressure pushes the actuation rings together. Spring discs also rotationally locked to the mandrel are between pairs of actuation rings that feature a circumferential protrusion. On application of axial force the protrusion engages a sloping portion of the spring disc and moves the sloping portion toward a more vertical orientation. A corrugated tube surrounds the spring discs with a curled end of each spring disc engaged to an internal tube corrugation. A seal element is on the external corrugations of the tube. The spring discs expand the tube to bring the sealing element and external tube peaks to the borehole wall. Slots in the spring disc allow irregular growth of the tube to conform to surface irregularities.
