    Abstract: There is provided the use of a nitro-substituted aromatic compound of formula (I), (II), (III), or (IV) and a copolymers comprising repeat units of formula (III) and/or (IV) as an electrode material as well as the use of such compound in the manufacture of an electrode. An electrode composite material and an electrode comprising this compound are also provided. When used in metal-ion batteries, preferably Li-ion batteries, the electrode of the invention has a combination of high operating voltage (e.g. >2.0 V) and high specific capacities (e.g. >300 mAh g?1). To the best of the inventors' knowledge, some of them have the highest specific capacity, along N with high voltage, among organic electrode materials reported to date for application in alkali-ion batteries.     Abstract: A flyback DC-DC converter is disclosed herein. The flyback DC-DC converter includes a transformer, a voltage divider and a controller. The transformer receives a DC input voltage and converts the DC input voltage to a DC output voltage. The voltage divider is coupled to a first secondary winding of the transformer, and generates a feedback signal indicative of the DC output voltage. The controller is coupled to the transformer via an input switching circuit and controls the input switching circuit to regulate the DC output voltage according to the feedback signal. A skip operation is triggered if the voltage of the feedback signal is higher than a preset reference voltage at the end of a turn-off period of the input switching circuit, and the voltage of the feedback signal is changed to zero during the skip operation.

    Abstract: A polyolefin polymer comprising one or more terminal polymerizable methacryloyl groups (i.e. tethered to the main body of the polymer) and a novel process for preparing same are herein disclosed. A hyperbranched polyethylene polymer and a process for preparing same are also disclosed. The polymer is prepared by a novel one-pot copolymerization reaction of an olefin, such as ethylene, and a heterobifunctional comonomer comprising a methacryloyl group, catalyzed by a late transition metal ?-diimine catalyst which is selectively non-reactive towards methacryloyl groups. The process allows for preparation of polymers with various chain topologies, including linear, branched, and hyperbranched topologies. The terminal methacryloyl groups within the polymer are reactive in further polymerization reactions. Thus, the polymer may be used in materials and applications which require cross-linking or further polymerization, for example, UV/thermal/radical curable crosslinkers for use in thermoset applications.
