  • Publication number: 20210243646
Abstract: A packet transmitter in a wireless communication system can perform a method for preparing transmission of physical layer protocol data units (PDUs). The method includes detecting a need to transmit a second stream of symbols having higher priority than a first stream of symbols currently being transmitted from the packet transmitter to a packet receiver. The first and second streams of symbols are each part of a respective physical layer PDU. A dedicated tag is inserted after a recent-most transmitted symbol of the first stream of symbols. The dedicated tag indicates that the first stream of symbols is subjected to pre-emption at the physical layer. Symbols of the second stream of symbols are inserted following the dedicated tag for transmission of the second stream of symbols to the packet receiver.

  • Patent number: 11025217
Abstract: There is provided mechanisms for automatic gain control in a wireless communication network for power grid control. The wireless communication network employs time based scheduling of packets. A method is performed by a packet receiver in the wireless communication network. The method comprises receiving a packet from a packet transmitter. The packet comprises a preamble. The preamble is composed of a single OFDM symbol. The preamble is represented by a sequence of samples. The method comprises applying automatic gain control to the sequence of samples after variable gain amplitude control has been applied to the sequence of samples. The automatic gain control involves applying an LPF to the sequence of automatic gain controlled samples. The LPF is selected from a bank of LPSs. Which LPF to apply depends on, according to the time based scheduling, from which packet transmitter the packet is received.

  • Publication number: 20210153225
Abstract: A method can be used for channel access in an industrial wireless network. A network controller allocates time/frequency resource units in a set of guaranteed timeslots to packet transceivers in the industrial wireless network. The guaranteed timeslots are timewise divided into slots and frequency wise divided into channels, where one slot-channel pair defines one time/frequency resource unit. The network controller provides to the packet transceivers information about the time/frequency resource units allocated to the packet transceivers. The packet transceivers map packets of their own traffic flows to their allocated time/frequency resource units in each set of guaranteed timeslots. The packets for each packet transceiver are mapped according to priority-based scheduling of its own traffic flows and independently of any mapping of packets of other packet transceivers in the industrial wireless network.

  • Publication number: 20200295901
Abstract: A communication method for wireless communication uses a TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) super-frame structure for scheduling uplink and downlink transmissions between a first node and a second node, the second node receives receiving a downlink transmission from the first node and transmits an uplink response to the first node. The transmission of the uplink response is performed in an uplink frame of the super-frame structure. The uplink frame includes a field for uplink payload data and a field for time indicating data. The transmission of the uplink response includes transmitting time stamps in the time indicating data field, the time stamps indicating a time instance of the receiving of the downlink transmission, and the time instance of the transmitting of the uplink response. The time instances are determined using the clock of the second node.
