  • Patent number: 10902192
Abstract: Techniques and systems are described for dynamic digital document visual aids in a digital medium environment. For example, a content creation system receives user input indicating a portion of a digital document that is of interest to a user. The content creation system generates keywords based on the indicated portion, and locates data corresponding to the keywords by parsing content associated with the digital document, such as in a hierarchical table. Then, the content creation system generates visual aids based on the indicated portion of the digital document that is of interest to the user and the data. The content creation system may select a subset of visual aids for display based on a determined relevance of the multiple visual aids to the indicated portion and a display size of the digital document.

  • Publication number: 20200142572
Abstract: The disclosure relates to methods, non-transitory computer readable media, and systems that leverage underlying digital datasets corresponding to static graphics to generate digital animated data narratives. In various embodiments, a digital narrative animation system receives static data graphics and a corresponding dataset and generate scenes for the data narrative using the static data graphics. Moreover, in one or more embodiments, the digital narrative animation system presents a storyboard animation user interface for customizing animated transitions between the scenes of the data narrative. Specifically, the digital narrative animation system can use the corresponding dataset to drive the animation transitions between scenes by linking values based on the data attached to each element, showing a different version of the data graphic based on a subset of the dataset, and/or changing the timing of an animation as a function of the data attached to each value.

  • Patent number: 10148776
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for analyzing a plurality of clickstreams associated with a resource to identify popular navigational patterns traversed by users of the resource. The analysis provides a navigational framework for performing continued analysis on segmented portions of the identified navigational patterns. To facilitate the analysis, clickstreams associated with the resource are analyzed to identify sets of clickstreams that have a common group of assets with which users of the resource interacted. Navigational patterns, which include commonly traversed series of assets interacted with by the users, are determined for the identified sets. The navigational pattern is then provided to identify popular navigational patterns traversed by users of the resource.

  • Patent number: 10096139
Abstract: Certain embodiments involve generating graphical depictions of data sets based on mapping paths of graphical objects to data properties. In one example, a graphics editing application displays a graphical interface for mapping a vector-based graphic to a data set. The vector-based graphic includes graphical objects defined by connected paths. The graphical interface receives input specifying modifications to visual properties of different graphical objects. For graphical objects mapped to data properties in the data set, the graphics editing application applies constraints to visual property modifications, where the constraints are based on mappings to the data properties in the data set. For graphical objects without mappings to data properties, the graphics editing application applies visual property modifications without these constraints.
