  • Publication number: 20230272650
Abstract: A counterbalance system for balancing an overhead door installed against a structure of a vehicle or a house, the door having at least one door panel, the system has a longitude pipe with non-circular section cut; a pair of U-brackets having two side walls with one center hole on each side; a pair of torsion spring assemblies received within the pipe, and the inboard end of the assembly being slidingly engaged within the pipe; a pair of connecting shaft, with inboard side connected with the outboard end of each of the spring assemblies; the shaft passing through the center holes of the U-bracket; the outboard end of each shaft being fixed with the side wall on the outboard end of each of the U-brackets; a pair of drums each having a center hole received by the shaft, and each of the drums located between two side walls of the U-bracket.

  • Publication number: 20100326759
Abstract: A hand control apparatus in a vehicle allows a disabled driver to operate the vehicle without using their feet. The push-pull style handle control apparatus is attached either to the steering column mount or instrument panel. An operation lever is cross-car (left-to-right) oriented and pivotally mounted at its mid-section through a pivot bracket to the steering column or instrument panel. A brake lever and an accelerator at both of near ends are pivoted to the bracket and both operate using the operation lever; with one oriented to the left and the other to the right. In this way, when the free end of the operation lever is pressed down, it pushes down the far end of the brake lever and an OEM brake arm through a brake rod. Similarly, when the free end operation lever is lifted up, it pushes down an OEM accelerator arm through an accelerator rod.

  • Patent number: 7708507
Abstract: A locking mechanism to secure a wheelchair while transporting in a vehicle comprises a base with a guide channel adapted to accept a catch pin and has been secured to a wheelchair. The catch pin is guided into the channel by an angled portion of the base. A locking mechanism cooperates with a pivot plate to secure the catch pin within the guide channel. A release mechanism allows disengagement. The guide channel includes a deformation groove that allows the mechanism to operate even when the metal has been deformed through repeated use. Lips are also provided at critical locations to allow free rotation of the parts even when the metal is deformed due to use.

  • Publication number: 20070298934
Abstract: A steering column mount or instrument panel mount push-pull style hand control apparatus for controlling a vehicle by hands only of a special driver. A operation lever is cross-car (left-right) oriented and pivotally mount at its mid-section through a pivot bracket to said steering column or to said instrument panel. A brake lever and a accelerator at both of their near ends are pivoted to said bracket and both under said operation lever, with one oriented to the left and another to the right. Therefore, when the free end of said operation lever is pressed down, it will push down said far end of brake lever and an OEM brake arm through a brake rod. Similarly, when the free end operation lever is lifted up, it will push down an OEM accelerator arm through an accelerator rod.

  • Patent number: 7207238
Abstract: An easy-installed auxiliary brake control system for driving practice of an automobile by means of an auxiliary brake actuator and two-component cables. The cables have an outer sheath portion and an inner cable portion. It connects an auxiliary brake actuator to a brake arm of the automobile. The auxiliary brake actuator rests on a floor of a passenger compartment of the automobile, without necessity of being secured to it. When an instructor acts on the auxiliary brake actuator, the brake arm is actuated through relative movement between the inner cable portion and the outer sheath portion of the cables. This system is significantly cheaper than prior arts, especially for installation, and damages on the automobile for installation are minimized.
