  • Publication number: 20200057935
Abstract: A video action detection method based on a convolutional neural network (CNN) is disclosed in the field of computer vision recognition technologies. A temporal-spatial pyramid pooling layer is added to a network structure, which eliminates limitations on input by a network, speeds up training and detection, and improves performance of video action classification and time location. The disclosed convolutional neural network includes a convolutional layer, a common pooling layer, a temporal-spatial pyramid pooling layer and a full connection layer. The outputs of the convolutional neural network include a category classification output layer and a time localization calculation result output layer. The disclosed method does not require down-sampling to obtain video clips of different durations, but instead utilizes direct input of the whole video at once, improving efficiency.

  • Patent number: 9153248
Abstract: A disk drive preamplifier (preamp) includes a write driver that has two pairs of programmable bypass current sources not connected to the write current source to compensate for the inherent magnetic asymmetry of the write head. One pair of the programmable bypass current sources provides a fixed bypass current in one direction. The other pair provides a fixed bypass current in the opposite direction. Prior to writing, only one of the pairs of bypass current sources is selected and programmed with the correct value of bypass current. When the write driver generates the positive and negative write current pulses during writing the selected bypass current sources provide a fixed offset to the amplitude of the write current pulses.

  • Patent number: 6700723
Abstract: Monitoring the decay of the magnetic domains and refreshing the magnetic domains when the amount of decay has passed an established threshold allows a means to compensate for the superparamagnetic effect and increase the amount of data stored on a recording media. A high frequency reference signal and a low frequency reference signal can be written onto the magnetic media. The low frequency reference signal corresponds to large magnetic bits on the storage media surface, whereas the high frequency reference signal corresponds to small magnetic bits. Because of the large difference in decay rates between the high frequency and low frequency reference signals, any change in the difference of the two signals over time actually reflects the level of signal degradation that has occurred in the high frequency reference signal.

  • Patent number: 5738566
Abstract: A lapping guide system, method and article of manufacture is disclosed. A method of fabricating a lapping guide for use in conjunction with the machining of a magnetic recording transducer includes the following steps. A plurality of lap switch fingers of the lapping guide and a bottom pole of the transducer are fabricated at the same time and from the same material. Each lap switch finger has the same topology as the topology of the bottom pole. An insulating layer is fabricated on the plurality of lap switch fingers of the lapping guide and on the bottom pole of the transducer. A top conductor is fabricated on the insulating layer above a plurality of lap switch fingers, while a top pole is fabricated on the insulating layer above the bottom pole. The top conductor and top pole are fabricated at the same time and from the same material.
