The storage device has a processing capability for a first communications protocol and a processing capability for a second communications protocol. The method includes: receiving an adaptive command (110); and identifying the adaptive command, and determining, according to the adaptive command, to execute the first communications protocol or the second communications protocol for an operation (120). According to the foregoing method, the storage device can perform an adaptive operation between different communications protocols.
