  • Publication number: 20040114332
Abstract: A heat sink clip assembly (1) for attaching a heat sink (5) on a CPU (7) includes a retention frame (10), and a pair of clips (20) pivotally attached to two sides of the retention frame. Each clip includes a main body (21), and a handle (41) pivotally attached to the main body. The main body includes a cross beam (23), and two locking arms (31) respectively depending from opposite ends of the cross beam. Each locking arm defines a locking hole (33) at a distal end. The handle has a cam portion (47) at one end thereof. The clips are pivoted outwardly to make way for the heat sink to seat on the CPU. Then the clips are pivoted upwardly, so that the cross beam is suspended above the heat sink. The handle is pivoted downwardly so that the cam portion presses the heat sink to the CPU.

  • Patent number: 6722418
Abstract: A heat sink assembly includes a heat sink (10), a fan fixing device (30), and a fan (60). The heat sink has a base (12), and a plurality of fins (14) extending from the base. Two threaded holes (18) are defined in each of opposite sides of the base. The fan fixing device has a frame (32), and four legs (36) respectively depending from four corners of the frame. A plurality of concentric guiding vanes (34) is formed on the frame. The guiding vanes have slanted surfaces for guiding airflow toward a central portion of the heat sink. An aperture (42) is defined in an end of each leg. A first screw (102) extends through each aperture and engages in a corresponding threaded hole of the heat sink. The fan is attached to the frame with a plurality of second screws (100).

  • Publication number: 20040000398
Abstract: A heat dissipation assembly includes a heat sink (10), a fan (70), and a mounting device for attaching the fan to the heat sink. The mounting device includes four clips (30), and four shafts (50) pivotably connecting the clips to the heat sink. Each clip includes a main body (31), a top pressing portion (39), and a bottom mounting portion (43). A tab (45) is upwardly formed from a center of the mounting portion. Two parallel connecting portions (33) extend outwardly from two side edges of the main body respectively. The tabs of the mounting portions of the clips abut against the fan in corresponding through holes (72) thereof. The pressing portions of the clips press an upper face of the fan at corresponding through holes thereof. Thus te fan is securely mounted on the heat sink between the pressing portion and the mounting portion of each of the clips.

  • Patent number: 6667884
Abstract: A heat dissipating assembly includes a CPU (35) mounted on a motherboard (30), a fan (20), two clips (60), a heat sink (10), two fasteners (50), a back plate (40) and two posts (70). The heat sink includes a base (12) and a plurality of fins (14). Two ears (16) are formed at respective opposite sides of the base. The clips mount the fan to the heat sink. The back plate is placed under the motherboard, and the posts are sequentially extended through the back plate, the motherboard and the ears of the heat sink. The fasteners are retained on the ears of the heat sink around the respective posts. The fasteners are rotated, causing the posts to resiliently press the fasteners on the ears, and resiliently press the back plate on the motherboard. Thus the heat sink is securely attached to the CPU on the motherboard.

  • Patent number: 5379198
Abstract: Courtesy lamp system for a vehicle in which a lamp structure in a housing is associated with a rear view mirror assembly. The housing has a divider panel to divide the housing into upper and lower recesses containing light sources. A pair of green light sources are in the upper recess and at the rear of the vehicle, respectively, a red light source is in the lower recess. The green light sources are coupled by circuitry to manual switches and the vehicle brake light is coupled to a third switch. Thus, when the first manual switch is actuated, the light source in the upper recess will blink on and off. When a second switch is actuated, it will turn the green light source on and off at the rear of the vehicle. When the brake pedal is depressed, it will close the third switch which will actuate the red light source and the brake light to indicate that the brake has been applied. The mirror is coupled by universal joint to an inner end wall surface of the housing.
