Two recording media sheets are serially passed through a nip to transfer the image of the first duplex page back side to a bare side of a recording media sheet that also bears the image of the front side of the first duplex page on an obverse side and to transfer the image of the second duplex page to a bare side of a recording media sheet that has not been previously printed.

The method then prints images on the B side of the first sheet and on an A side of a third sheet in a single full transfer rotation of the drum. Similarly, the method prints images on the B side of the second sheet and on an A side of a fourth sheet in a single full transfer rotation of the drum. This method then prints images on the B side of the third sheet and the B side of the fourth sheet in a single full transfer rotation of the drum.
