  • Patent number: 7671924
Abstract: A scaling device for video displays includes a limited number of line buffers and produces stable output frames by using a stable clock source to produce the output image clock. The scaling device further includes an error counter for determining an error between an ideal output line length and an actual line length and an error accumulator for keeping a running total of all output line length errors. The error accumulator can signal when the total line error for a given frame is greater than one, indicating that an additional output point should be added to the blanking area of that output line.

  • Patent number: 7532773
Abstract: A directional interpolation method and device for increasing resolution of an image is disclosed. The device includes an input terminal, a memory, a texture analysis module, a texture variance consistence module and an interpolation module. The input terminal receives signals representing the pixels of the image. The memory stores the pixels in row direction. The texture analysis module obtains a monotone variation area by taking the position as a center. The texture variance consistence module computes all directional texture variances in a closest upper and a closest lower rows of pixels within the monotone variation area in the case of taking the position as a center and accordingly finds two pixels having texture variance consistence. The interpolation module finds a value of pixel to be interpolated to the position through a median filter in accordance with the two pixels and their neighbor pixels.

  • Patent number: 7307670
Abstract: A bad editing detection device is provided to pre-detect a bad editing of image signal, so as to avoid zigzag effect in the television image. When the input image is from a film, instead of from a video source, the line doubler performs a de-interlace for the film signal to increase the vertical resolution of the television signal. The detection device detects a bad editing before the image signal is played and adjusts the de-interlace of the line doubler to avoid zigzag effect.
