  • Publication number: 20220306584
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a new series of 8-hydroxyquinoline derivatives/analogs that are potent KDM4 inhibitors with high activity and selectivity against KDM4 enzymes. Also disclosed are the pharmaceutical compositions comprising such 8-hydroxyquinoline-based potent KDM4 inhibitors, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and method of use thereof, for treating cancer and neoplastic diseases and the like.

  • Patent number: 7160720
Abstract: The present invention relates to a new polypeptide and the gene encoding therefore, said gene being regulated in cardiac tissue by the transcription factor MEF2C. This polypeptide, CHAMP (cardiac helicase activated by MEF2 protein), bears striking resemblance to a number of other helicase proteins and appears to play a role in RNA processing and transcriptional control in heart muscle. For example, CHAMP has been demonstrated to inhibit both hypertrophy of primary cardiomyocytes and proliferation of non-cardiac cells. Also disclosed are methods of using the gene and protein in drug screening and therapy, including, for example, use of the gene in gene therapy to treat cardiovascular disease.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 15, 2002
Date of Patent: January 9, 2007
Assignee: Board of Regents, The University of Texas System
    Inventors: Eric Olson, Zhi-Ping Liu
  • Publication number: 20040029158
Abstract: The present invention relates to HOP, a cardiac homeodomain protein that regulates cell differentiation and cell proliferation in cardiac, liver, lung and neuronal cells. Also disclosed are methods of using the gene and protein to treat and diagnose cardiovascular and neuronal diseases, as well as in screening methods.
