    Abstract: An optical pickup includes an objective lens, a lens holder which holds the objective lens, a focusing coil attached to the lens holder having the winding axis directed at the optical axis of the objective lens, and a magnet provided opposite the side surface of the lens holder. A protruding portion is attached to the side surface of the lens holder at a side apart from the objective lens with respect to the optical axis direction of the objective lens farther than the focusing coil.
