    Abstract: A system for allocating resources in a communications network includes a plurality of access points and a central controller in communication with the plurality of access points. Each access point in the plurality of access points is in communication with one or more user devices. The central controller is configured to receive traffic information and channel information for access point—user device links in the communications network. The central controller is also configured to determine a joint resource allocation based at least in part on the received traffic and channel information and at least in part on an algorithm. The central controller is further configured to transmit the joint resource allocation to the plurality of access points, where the joint resource allocation comprises spectrum allocation, user association, and power allocation.

The electronic processor then generates user interface elements as a function of the set of communication group types and the type of group communication application and configures the group communication application including the user interface elements at the communication device for supporting group communication.

    Abstract: A method for hosting a cloud-based broadband push-to-talk (PTT) configuration application includes detecting a user action taken at a remote client device providing an interface to the configuration application including an activation of an add group graphical object for adding a new group to an existing broadband PTT radio system, and further includes entrance of a unique identifier for the new group and entrance of whether the new group is a broadband-only group or a converged broadband and land-mobile-radio (LMR) group. A voice service stack associated with the broadband PTT radio system is updated to include the new group and existing other broadband mobile radios are updated via a voice service stack to reflect the added new group. Where the type of the new group is a converged broadband and LMR group, an LMR interface stack of the LMR radio system is updated to reflect the newly added group.
