    Abstract: An interactive method, terminal device and system for communicating multimedia information are disclosed in the embodiments of the present disclosure. A sending terminal is configured to pop up a multimedia recording window at a preset location on a current conversation interface after a multimedia recording function is initiated, display the captured video information in the multimedia recording window, and send the multimedia information which is encoded in the current conversation interface after the recording of the multimedia information is finished. According to the present disclosure, a multimedia recording window and a multimedia player window are provided on a current conversation interface to implement the recording and playing of multimedia information, so that a smooth and continuous multimedia communication can be achieved with limited resources such as network bandwidth. Moreover, the transmission rate of information may be increased.

    Abstract: A method and a device for monitoring a cable system in the field of communications are provided. An optical signal emitted by an optical source to a transmission link of the cable system is divided into two paths of optical signals, in which one path of optical signals serve as local coherent light, and the other path of optical signals are transformed by multipath frequency shift to multiple paths of detection optical signals of different frequencies. A monitoring result is obtained by performing coherent detection, with the local coherent light, on the returned optical signals of the multiple paths of detection optical signals of different frequencies. The device includes an optical source, a multipath frequency shift module, and a coherency module.

    Abstract: A method for locating a fault of a submarine cable, a device, and a communication system are provided. A light pulse output by a Repeater (RPT) is incident to a location of a fault as a probe light pulse. The RPT obtains a time difference between the probe light pulse and the reflected probe light pulse, and sends the time difference to a terrestrial Submarine Line Terminal Equipment (SLTE) so that the SLTE may easily locate the fault according to principles of an Optical Time Domain Reflector (OTDR). Compared with the prior art, the method may locate the fault of the submarine cable more quickly and accurately, so that maintainers may maintain the submarine cable in time.
